Nobody expected any team to be dominant in 2022… nobody expected any team to STAY dominant COS OF THE BUDGET CAP and THE NEW WINDTUNNEL and CFD restrictions for the Constructors champions…. They get much less windtunnel and CFD time, aimed to give the other teams extra opportunities to close the gap! So yeah, the budget cap and the CFD and windtunnel restrictions ARE WORKING! RBR didn’t expect at all tobe dominating from 2022…. Ferrari was close in 2022..but got reliability issues with their engines. And the other teams had serious porpoising problems…..and needed time to understand ground effect cars…

if max has gone through his set of engines already, that might explain their early season pace. Has RB been running Max’s engines up to their limits and breaking or just wearing them out to get an edge, and maybe not doing that to Perez’s car. Could explain the huge difference between them (well partly explain, Perez is terrible).

Nonsense. They have had reliability issues. His engine only 1 FP in his car gave the smoke at Montreal… that was a new engine.. They aren’t setting them on full beans, they are setting them on LOW during all FP’s, on advice of Honda. All 4 cars do that.

@@Redlingstein So that tells me that the engine can’t be run at competitive speeds without risk, that means it’s not up to the job. They’ve run it as hard as they can get away with in Max’s car during the race and killed 4 engines by halfway through the season. If they’d been running them within there capabilities, they wouldn’t be breaking down. I guess we’ll see Max falling back down the grid now they’ve got to protect the engines.

Engines are not used linearly. (IE until it's used up, then put in a new one) They get switched around and put back in frequently. When do you actually "need" it?
