Excellent, LIKE!. 1. NE5532: bright, clear. 2. OPA2134: smooth, full balance. All others sound dull, AD823 clipps. It might not show on the scope, but I can hear it on your test. Good show. want to say this. bought an Op-Amp kit online and think they are all the same. (fakes). Amazon

I am a little skeptical… some of the labeling on the ICs look a little sketchy. Be interesting if you could (with a Q-Tip and a little Acetone) test to see if the labeling wipes off on any of these OP Amps. There are a lot of fakes (rebranded) Op Amps being sold (Amazon, EBay, Ali, etc).

Much depends on the type of circuit and the gain. For example, we know that in the late 70s those who used the TL072 avoided amplifying it beyond X5 and used 2 inverting in series. If I want an X10 amplification, then I will put two inverting ones with identical gain x3.2+x3.2 approximately and I will have very low distortion. And then the TL072 sounds very well at 36 volts but worsens the sound quality by reducing the volts. Now you know that things are not as simple as you thought. Greetings from Italy

Use +/-V with "real ground" rather than virtual ground, the opamp freq. response will be flat for the load its designed for , e.g. JRC 4556 +/-15V into 150 Ohms or +/-5V into 32 Ohms, while NE5532 +/-15V into 600 Ohms. Not all opamps are designed for headphones but some like JRC4556 can be paralleled for higher output current. Some opamps can work with only 2K Ohms or above and specifically designed for either Audio or Video applications only. Everything is mentioned in datasheets

Masalahnya tiap opamp berbeda om kalau dipakain buat buffer, crossover atau gain stage. Baik di satu aplikasi belum tentu baik untuk aplikasi lain

TL072 ketinggalan. Yg kuat menggerakkan headphone cuma 4556 & 4580. Type lain cuma kuat dibebani di atas 600Ω. Kalau dibebani kurang dr 600Ω, distorsi akan parah. Catu 2×9V menurunkan performa slew rate, mengurangi respons 16kHz. Signetics 5532 bahkan sering dicatu 2×18V. Orientasi penerapan CA3240 adalah utk pengukuran & otomatisasi (kontrol suhu, kontrol intensitas cahaya, kontrol tekanan, kontrol kecepatan, jaringan PID, kontrol frekuensi (PLL), kontrol eksitasi), kurang cocok utk audio. You could also ask excel to trace the average to actually 'see' if the opamp tents to be a bass or high frequency like.

I think, this test is to inform which op amp suits our needs under the same conditions because they have the same design (8 pins). different situation if we want to maximize a potential of the op amp. If you have chosen an OP amp, then you can tweak it later

@@dedskin1 no, it can be true, this is just about different point of view, for my need, i will prioritize find Op Amp that have less distortion and warm clean sound, weakness about low response for some frequency then i can tweak with my equalizer later

@@arinov77 Look its not exactly like that , you wont get a best amp with best sound just by going for most expensive op amp . People pay 100$ per op amp , for their CD players , crazy stuff , they also dont know what im going to tell you . Best opamp in a bad circuit will be worse then bad opamp in a good circuit . If an opamp has low noise it wont matter if you PSU is noisy , if your PCB is bad there is nothing op amp can do about it . Things get complex in a hurry once you want to get a Circuit as good as worst op amps . Becasue even the worst ones are very good , better then you PSU or board . How you use it will make the difference , make a good board and circuit that works fine with bad op amp , then get a better op amp . That is my advice, of course you can get good ones , but dont expect youll get best results just because you have purchased best parts .

@@dedskin1 The Author trying to make simple best custom DIY circuit and make PCB on Proffesiona,l PCB maker, i think this is enough for general testing purpose. For ordinary users in general, they will not focus on optimizing the design of the audio equipment circuit because it is too complex, what can be done is to upgrade the components in it, such as capacitors with better quality, better IC performance, etc. Even major electronics manufacturers (example: Marantz, Sansui, Yamaha, Kenwood and others) make audio equipment that can produce different output sound characteristics even though they use the same power IC chip. There is indeed an element of trial and error in this, if you are lucky the OP Amp chip you buy matches the audio circuit you have and can work optimally. For expert users, you can check the IC OP amp datasheet to be purchased and match it with the audio circuit you have so that it can work optimally.

I don't understand your frequency response figures. I have tested the 5532 and it's completely flat from DC to over 100khz with the gain set to 5. Why your measured ICs are up and down like that makes no sense at all. Most op amps have similar frequency responses, flat from DC then sloping off at VERY high frequency. They do not go up and down within the audio spectrum.
