The best part was that someone finally stacked the SS with a Tube Screamer in a demo! To me, that’s when the SS and other Vetrtex pedals, really comes to life and shine. I almost always play them stacked and use the volume and tone knobs on my guitar to control increase or reduce the amount of saturation. The Steel String has stacked well with every pedal I’ve paired it with. Great demo.
@2010njdevil3 жыл бұрын
I think I saw the same video and thought "Oh yeah, that nailed it!" Another bonus with the SSS is that it provides the dynamic of the compression Gilmour used to give the mids more focus and still let the "clean" mix and shine with the grit of his tube driver. The same dynamic can be heard at points in this video also.

I have the original one. Wouldnt trade it unless i was offered the original amp. One thing I would advise people thinking about buying this pedal is that it only shines when you play your amp loud. You need an amp with a ton of head room. people say it does nthing but a clean boost. they're wrong. It's one of the most dynamic pedals ive played. Once again you need a loud amp to take full advantage of the pedal. Great video.

@BuddyBlues3 жыл бұрын
Perfectly clean amp like the video shows, no buffers on this board at all. Use the settings from the thumbnail of this video, and put any and all overdrive pedals BEFORE it. Moderation is key with this pedal, you really "shouldn't hear it". If that makes any sense... it is what it does with your amp and other pedals. The output knob and clean knob are key! Keep messing with it you'll love it

Is your Supreme knob broken? I have the same pedal, but mine doesn't go that far. It's pointed all the way down...?

No the knob was probably inserted when the pot shaft wasn’t at the zero point. Kinda like when you look down on a strat and the volume knob at 10 doesn’t read 10 but 8. I took the knob off since and put it back on its normal stuff

Yes only I don't use modulation or reverb haha I use the reverb from the amp. Putting the SSS or the Charlie Brown V4 on my other board as the last pedal acts as "the amp". They are amps in a box after all, so I run my amp super clean, and the sss is the first thing my amp sees

Do you mean that the middle pick up on a Strat is trash, because you don’t use it in your playing? I will use it when the song calls for it, or help achieve a new sound. I know SRV used it on Pride and Joy, and that song was one of the reasons I gravitated to the Strat. I also have various pedal demos, and I enjoy your channel and playing quite a bit. Tomo Fugita just did a demo of a one pick up Strat. I asked him the same question, why many Strat players dog out the middle pick up. I use it when it’s called for, I’m not sure if I should have a bias towards it. Keep up the good work.
