Vertex Steel String Supreme SSS (Demo & Tones)

We finally got our hands on the new Vertex Steel String Supreme SSS, based off a dumble amp tone. The SSS produces such a sweet tone, it's touch sensitive and has a tube amp like character. In this video, we show how we set the SSS settings on our pedal board to enhance the overall clean tone and our Strymon Sunset texas tone. Next we show case how much gain this pedal can produce when we engaged the "Supreme" side of the pedal.

Love my SSS. With guitar volume it is insanely versatile. Cleans up while still being responsive and can drive beautifully when volume up. Makes a great sounding amp even greater.

I've been seriously looking at this but then got "distracted" by options like The Duelist, Protein by Browne Amplification, King Tone's Blues Power, and others....but still come back to the Vertex SSS. Huge SRV fan but wonder if this has the "beef" behind it or a Boss BD-2 or other tube screamer can "seal the deal"....or should I seriously consider the other options? I think I might be caught in the trap of trying to find the "1" pedal to do everything......What are your thoughts?

@@davidsisto7694 I find it give an awesome clean/breakup tone as intended, with an xotic EP clean boost behind it beefs it up considerably and sound fat. So yes I would say you'll need a second boost/drive to achieve SRV.

@@petevespermanofficial Hi Pete. I knew I was going to buy it anyway so I've had it a week now and it does many things quite well. There are quite a few SRV tones but with my SRV Strat, I have really dialed in in some great tone. I have also used it with the J. Rockett Blue Note which is a bit more dynamic than the Boss BD-2 and thicker than the TS-9. Experimenting with these "toys" really is a lot of fun!!

I haven't tried the steel string. But I believe it's suppose to be the same. Supreme has an additional switch with more gain and eq stuff.

Hi! is the ssss like a preamp? does it need iridium irs to enter the sound card? how do you turn off the iridium amp simulation and use cabinet simulation only? I ask because I also have iridium and would like to buy the sss

Yes i see the SSS like a tone shaper. You will still need the Iridium preamp and IR as the base tone.

@@micheledibella9375 the Supreme side pushes the pedal so you can get more distorted tones and it has a Fat knob to shape the eq as well.
