Very fast dropper item distribution for Super Smelters and Super Brewing in Mincraft Java 1.19

This is an in-progress investigation around dropper item distrbution as an alternative to minecart item distribution. While these are not final builds, they do demonstrate where dropper item distribution would have advantages over minecart or hopper based item distribution.
Dropper item distribution is twice as fast as hopper item distribution, but does not need hoppers below the feed to be locked. Unlike minecarts, there are no entities involved and are not affected by chunk unloading or loading. Given they are driven from the first dropper, they can also easily be set up to distribute when items are placed in the first dropper as a stack with a shift-left-click, which can be useful in a brewing scenario where there are a number of differen types of items to be distributed.
If someone would like me to go more into detail of one of the ideas let me know. It should be possible to work out the builds from the video as the designs are very, very simple compared to other super-brewing or non-minecart super-smelters, but I don't really walk through the whole builds step by step.

very cool concept, i needed a way for distributing shulker boxes evenly so ive been using minecarts for that but i might try this to make my machine faster, its going to be a storage system but for shulker boxes

Thanks for commenting, I would love to see the result when you are done. Hopefully it works for you. Something not mentioned in the video I worked out since is observer clock speed from redstone lines is affected by the block update order and hence world orientation (if it's facing north, south, east, or west) and nearby other redstone. If it's slower than expected it may work faster in another orientation. Can also be fixed by moving nearby redstone around but that would unlikely be an option in a storage system, I suspect. Hopefully you don't hit that one, but if you do try changing the orientation first to confirm that is what you are hitting rather than the redstone.

@@elhedran hmm i tired building it just to try it out but all the droppers are sending the items to last dropper which is what i was kinda expecting so maybe a tutorial or something would be nice, also i wanted to ask why do you have a clock using a pulse extender is that necessary?

@@onepump930 the pulse extender is needed, it's what distributes the items and makes it so the items do not all go to the last dropper. I'll see what I can do about more of a tutorial video.

Basically as the pulse extender fades, the signal makes it to one less dropper each time, making the items distributed also make it one less dropper.

There probably won't be a super smelter out of this - not unless someone can think of an relatively simple way to extend out to at least 25 containers. At 15 containers the speed isn't much help as blast furnaces can't keep up, let alone normal furnaces, and hopper locking hasn't ever really been a problem for super smelters that isn't better dealt with by balancing the speed of distribution with the speed of smelting. Still, until I had some inspiration for dropper distribution, I didn't think a super brewer was possible either without a lot of complexity.
