Very steamy indeed. Made some very atmospheric views. I did not see that much steam on Friday.

Nothing but trouble, 9F's. On a properly run railway the fat controller would have a few words to say :)

I've hopefully captured some streamy moments at the Bluebell's Giants of Steam Gala on Saturday. I haven't downloaded the footage yet, so it could be complete rubbish.

@@philclarke3203 just downloaded the two SD cards onto the laptop. Looks quite good (quality wise) considering it was chucking it down at one point. I actually placed my flat cap onto the camera for quite some time to help shield the many buttons on the top of it. I have no idea what its water resistance IP rating is. Hope it's Ok ?

Hi Phil, thanks for a great video, boy do I miss the East Lancs. Also, can you tell me what you film with and your editing approach Cheers Andrew originally from Bolton now in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦

Thanks Andrew, my pleasure. I use a Panasonic HC-VXF1 camcorder with a Rode mic. To edit, I just use the basic, free, Windows moviemaker 😀

What's the idea behind all the steam? It was never like that in the 50s / 60 s. 😮
@spankflaps1365Ай бұрын
There was a big train crash at Lewisham in the 50s, caused by driving blind in steam train smog. This was the disaster that made AWS compulsory. The steam is from drain cocks, safety valve and blower. It’s much more visible in cold weather.
@spankflaps1365Ай бұрын
Also a lot of the steam is from carriage heating, not used in the summer.
@AndreiTupolevАй бұрын
Steam condensing in cold cylinders is not a good idea, so naturally drivers might perhaps err on the side of caution
@philclarke3203Ай бұрын
Playing it safe,to clear the cold cylinders. Alot more trouble and expensive to repair now, if anything goes wrong.
