Well said! Breath is always a no brainer for me when deciding which song to listen to. Breaking Benjamin is part of a small group of artists in which I can start at the beginning and let it go through the entire album.

And quick back story the album Dark before Dawn was after they took like a three year break after Ben, their lead singer and writer, almost died from liver failure, if i am correct, due to drinking too much and this album was his way to talk about his struggle with it. Which is why it has a more dark and retrospective feel to it

The entire Phobia album is love - You / Evil Angel / Until the End etc. Also check out Firefly (2004) & Feed the Wolf (2018) (songs). The members have changed (check wiki), but Benjamin is still vocal and lead, so it's all good! :D - - Godsmack - When Legends Rise

U had me till Nickleback?!?!? Not a chance , these guys were doing the thing way before nickleback....wtf...they have been touring for 4 years straight seriously!!! I have gone to 4 shows in 4 years .....amazing band!! He is a lyrical genius, Ben Burnley....going strong for so many years!! One of my favorite bands and my favorite song is Anthem of the Angels because it reminds me of my oldest sister who died 3 months before I was born and I’ve felt she’s been my guardian angel because there’s been many incidents in my life where I should have died but didn’t, like in kindergarten I was hit head on by an suv going fast , I was knocked unconscious and woke up in the ambulance and got to the hospital and nothing was wrong with me even though I should have had brain damage and possibly be paralyzed, and I was along skateboarding in a shutdown parking garage and being stupid I was electrocuted and somehow survived, and then there was my many Suicide attempts where I slit my wrists or took a bunch of pills but survived so she must have been watching over me and saved me

Loved your reaction! "Let's see if that was a one hit thing" actually made me laugh cause BB do NOT have a single bad song. They were my introduction to hard rock and I never turned back since then. I'd love to recommend the GazettE, who are a hard rock band from Japan. Specifically a visual kei band, a subgenre of Japanese metal. If you liked these songs I think you'd love them, too! I recommend Ruthless Deed, Gush, and Daku :)

And to answer your question if the band is still together or not: yes and no. The original group went on hiatus in 2010 which involved some drama and a legal battle and the two guitarists were let go and the drummer quit but frontman Ben Burnley got a new lineup together in 2014 with former members of Red, Adelitas Way, and Picture Me Broken. The band is still currently touring (I'll actually be seeing them in Dallas next week) and has a new acoustic album due out soon.

It blows my mind that people that are into rock have never heard of these guys but then I've been listening to them since 02. They are hands down the best hard rock band of our generation. And since you're really into the guitar you have to listen to Crawl which has the best instrumental they've ever done. I'd also recommend Ashes of Eden to hear something totally different from them and my personal favorite is the solo about halfway through Natural Life on their first album.

So after Dear Agony (I Will Not Bow), Breaking Benjamin took a big hiatus due to the lead singer's (Benjamin Burnley's) illness and a lawsuit between him and a couple members (they remixed and re-released his song without his knowing/permission). So technically, they did break up, but he came back with some other band members. The reason his voice sounds slightly different is because his back up singers are actually different people, whereas in their first four albums he alone would do lead and back up. Just a little bit of info for ya! (:

Breaking Benjamin is kinda hard to place usually I just classify them as Alternative Rock because they implement a lot of stuff from other Rock genres, and personally one thing that definitely made me fall in love with this band is the uniqueness of Benjamin Brunley's voice he has this rasp to his voice that he knows how to use well to just add a little extra flavor to their music.
