Excellent video! Great information on the differences between batteries and the chargers

I was stoked to see this video show up this morning as I need a new battery for my stock P200. You mention vintage at the beginning of the video, but it never comes up again. The cranking amps of these batteries makes a difference starting moderns, but how would it apply for the P? What's your recommendation for a replacement battery? Big fan of the videos and proudly rock my KZbin Certified Scooter Tech badge (converted it to a magnet 🧲🤖).

Tks Sir -----! I am confused whether I should use Lithium Battery because of High CCA >200A - so I can start my 250cc GTS engine better or not. Now I know should use lead acid battery ^^

I know this is a slightly different thing, but I started using a super capacitor to recover dying batteries (i.e. autowit batteryless car jump starter). Hook it up to your battery, it soaks up the remaining energy, takes 1-2 minutes, once it has 12v it can jump your battery. As opposed to lithium jump starters, it's super light, and you don't have to worry about a battery exploding.

I have a liberty 125cc. You never seem to mention them. Don’t they sell them in the US? Great channel, lots of detail.

HELLO . such a problem with the wiring of the scooter Piaggio X8evo The cigarette lighter on the dashboard and the central locking of the seat and trunk will drain the battery if not started for several days, and all batteries are dead, although they should have been active only when the ignition key was turned. Checked with a tester the scooter is not active (the engine is not working)

The Vespa elettrica still has a lead acid battery as the ancillary battery - just to run the dash really. Is it ok to replace this with a lithium battery?
@youngiesbeats7273 жыл бұрын
What actually drains the battery? I have a Vespa ET4 Vintage model as a project bike i'm working on at the minute. Battery was charged a few days ago and is now completely drained again and doesn't have the power too crank over. Thanks Motorsport :)

Which Battery best in Vespa????
@joeolander43503 жыл бұрын
My experience with cold weather starting was that lead acid had to be discharged a little before it got up to full voltage, where lithium delivered a surge right away. My mp3 started with a bang regardless of temperature or how long it was last run.

Replaced the battery in my BV 350 (with another gel battery) and it wouldn't idle properly afterwards.......had to have the ECU re-flashed. What's up with that ? Have you ever seen it before ?
@JakeM2183 жыл бұрын
Did you touch any wires together while fitting or removing the old battery? Was the bike turned off? Did you wait a long time inbetween removing the old battery and replacing it with the new?

My big problem with most lithium batteries is the damage that occurs when you discharge it too much. Most people are going to try and start their bikes until it won't spin and there goes your $200 battery.
@JakeM2183 жыл бұрын
I thought it was lead acid that has troubles if it’s discharged below 50%. Lithium is used in most phones, and those easily go down to 0% and then take a full charge after?
@roamereasy97373 жыл бұрын
You have to recharge the lithium battery when the energy goes down to 15%.
