Vessi Astoria Backpack 17L Review (2 Weeks of Use)

Vessi is a great company, I own several pairs of their shoes, fantastic products. But this looks like a shoe company designing a backpack. My favorite thing is that it is that this is a backpack marketed towards being waterproof and protecting your gear from the elements..... And then you need to stick your water bottle/liquids inside the bag with all the gear you want to protect.. Kind of defeats the purpose, no? Hopefully there's a V2 that's more well thought out in the future.

With the supplied dimensions a volume calculator says this is 25.2 litres?

The dimensions might represent the maxima of height, width and depth of the outside. Depending on how the bag is tailored, how the internals are organized, and how thick the materials are, that volume shrinks down quickly. With this backpack I guess it's the way in which the front side is curved rather than boxy, that takes away from the volume.

@ Good points which I also considered but I’m not sure you’d lose 8 litres because of these factors?

This pack looks much larger than the stated 17L. No water bottle holder nor much of easy-access pockets, so it's a miss for me. It's cool that the exterior fabric is waterproof.
