Wonderful. The facial expressions of the old train drivers are priceless.

Can’t beat it the sound of a 567 engine. Remember them in Australia.

As a boy I used to deliver newspapers in the afternoon. The route ended near the rail yard. They used to use the old EMD locomotives to make up the trains. I loved that sound. After school I joined the railway. The old EMD locomotives were in their last days. It was lucky for me to have logged hundreds of miles on them before their retirement. My company retired the last in about 2013-14. The replacements were EMD too, but turbo 8-710, instead of NA 567C.

You can thank Mr Kettering for that beautiful song. Nothing quite like the sound of a general motors EMD 567 series locomotive engine. Check out the history and development of the 567 series General motors locomotive engine paper, published in 1951 by e w Kettering himself.

Excellent publication! It mentions the whole two stroke development among the various GM divisions, EMD, Cleveland, and Detroit Diesel.

What's that awfull knocking noise on the engine that was filmed from inside the locomotive? That's not normal.
@brianburns721110 ай бұрын
It sounds like the air compressor. Sometimes they make that knocking sound.
