On the day of my grandma's funeral, preacher was talking about how happy Bessy would be when she met her husband Dewey again. About that time, it started storming really hard - out of nowhere. All of my immediate family start laughing our asses off! When they were alive, Bessy and Dewey couldn't spend more than five minutes with each other before they started fighting. And since both of them were deaf as stumps - they screamed at each other. It seemed very fitting and gave a wonderful story to pass on. 😊

This song by him omg it hits. My best friend is a marine and suffered from ptsd after serving 2 tours in war. He committed suicide in September 2011. When this song came on I lost it. It reminds me of him so much. 🫶🏼 much love to anyone hurting!! You got this!!

Agree, remember the good times. Lost my best friend in high school. Still see his parents from time to time. We chat about the good times. I have been a pallbearer a few times. There comes a sense of duty to assist your loved one to their final resting place. Not sure i am saying that right. Anyways keep up the good work. Cheers from Wisconsin.

My husband and I lost his best friend last February, he was 30, and the first time I heard this song was a few days after he passed and it destroyed me. Now I listen and think about how I know he’s up there givin heaven some hell and I smile and cry at the same time.

My Dad and 4 Uncles (all are his brothers) all served in the Navy, two of them (my Dad and Uncle Charles) were lifers. I've been to 3 of their funerals, all military, of course. It's when the horn is blowing playing Taps is when it hits me and I start bawling. Not crying, bawling. Every friggin time! Taps just hits the soul, imho. My Dad's funeral was a bit different from the others in that it was his wish to be buried out to sea because he loved the sea so much. A true sailor, eh? Anyways, we had a funeral in our local town and then the Navy gave him an official burial at sea on the USS Puget Sound, so we couldn't go to that one but they did film it in its entirety with ship crew in full dress uniform, etc. and the Captain gave us the CD copy they made of the services along with the ship's log entry as well. When I heard this song, it brought many memories of not only friends lost, but also my Dad and family members as well.

I'm sorry that you've had to deal with such loss. It's a credit to your character that you try to help others through their own loss and problems. I completely agree with that sentiment, try to celebrate their lives instead of only mourning their deaths. That's easier said than done sometimes. Brantley Gilbert's song One Hell of an Amen is sort of along this theme as well. It's dedicated to two people in his life.

my buddy took himself to a better place a few years ago and this song came out right after, couldn’t describe the kid better hope he’s up there ripping around causing trouble.. rest in peace nick lines love you kid❤️

My grandfather was a Harley riding, retired Green Beret medic that served in Vietnam. He was one of the funniest men I ever knew & lived life to the fullest. This is what I think of when I think of him. He left me 2 years ago but I know he’s giving them hell until I see him again.

Song always makes me laugh cause my wifes favorite song was REDNECKER and all she wanted was his truck so i got her one and we'd go hitting open fields teaching her how to do donuts without flipping the rig this makes me hope her and my boys found a dirt road and an open field to thrash the trucks i can still hear her screaming with laughter and the smile on her face when she finally figured it out we damn near ran out of gas and light when i convinced her we could come back tomorrow god i wish i had one more tomorrow Id kill for one id die for one

I wish when my youngest uncle passed away in April of 2021, that they would have played this song. Then, that November, when I lost my only other living uncle, I REALLY wish they would have played it. This song would have been perfect for them.

Our family has a tradition. You bury your own. Family members dig the grave and place the casket or urn and simply put, everyone takes turns burying. Alot of folks don't understand it.

I did 5 years in the Navy and let me tell you nothing changes your perspective on life then putting a young 18 year old to rest and seeing his family in pain. That makes you really enjoy what you have in life. ❤

It was hard to watch the disrespect shown to the dean by our current president. Apparently he had something to do because instead of showing respect for the 11 Marines, 1 sailors, and the one solder being taken off their last flight home.
