I haven't heard any update from Linnea on exactly what was changed to make the pedals stay level. I was pretty sure the gyro's algorithm was too limited, so I wonder if they wrote a better algorithm in the CPU or if this is just another band-aid for a fundamentally drunk EUC. That last little bit of pedal dip is from the G-forces of acceleration being indistinguishable from gravity so it's pretty normal across all models.

Right after you posted the first video I experienced my first forward tilt/dip. It was during a high-speed run passing some cars uphill, and it tilted so far forward it ground my toe tips very slightly, luckily it slowly tilted back before destroying me.

Well this update was released about 2 or 3 weeks ago, i just checked at what version my Lynx is and its .12 so 2 or 3 weeks ago I looked for updates and there were 3 in a row and i didn't get any other updates since. Thanks Adam for sending this issue to Veterans and I hope they will be more communicative in the future, I think customer service is one of the most important things when you sell a product or service even more if the product/service is very expensive.

For some reason Leaperkim designed app in the way that whole app needs to be updated to be aware of new firmware... So yeah, instead of just pulling info from web sometimes you need to reinstall the app. A bit ridiculous, but it is what it is.

Not just Lynx - I checked my Sherman S and there was an update (.12) available. I don't really push my wheel hard, so I don't know if I'll notice a difference, but I'm riding today so I'll see it it feels any different.

I don't have a Sherman s, so I don't know how to verify this. But I have a number of friends who do, and at least one of them has checked and said that there was no firmware update showing 🫤

Been jumping the Sherman for almost two years and never had a problem. I am on an older firmware. My understanding with the Lynx is that it’s the actual gyro and the firmware it came with not being reprogrammed for the wheel. I’m not an expert though. I can say without a doubt though the S doesn’t have this issue for me.

I'm really just using my Sherman S to get around the city while not burning any fossil fuels and mostly avoiding the congested roads, it works really well for that.

Have you done any testing with AA turned on? I thought riders were saying the dipping was more noticeable before with AA turned on. LeaperKim have not advised that they had any issue with 0.11 software. 0.12 is being offered as upgrade rather than as a fix for some issue. Perhaps all that was occuring before was that even with AA set to zero there was a lttle AA being applied and now they have retuned the firmware so that with AA set to zero there is no longer any AA being applied. AA is designed to do apply a little initial dipping when you lean forward to help you accelerate... so maybe what you experienced before was not a fault, but just some amount of AA that they had otped to have even if you did not turn on AA?

Nice to see Leaperkim maybe taking some pointers from Begode on their firmware. Looks like it rides much better, definitely looks flatter through the jumps. Sorry your blitz suspension is leaking, from what ive seen some Blitzs have zero problems and some can have a few. My guess is using a lot of new parts for Begode has made their quality control slightly harder. Im really happy with my Blitz, it jumps so well and the suspension is buttery smooth

Hm for sure. I can't ride bikes because its weird for my body and my knee can't handle it. EUC is the only chill and relaxed way to get all my errands done and have fun in the process :) certainly the social aspect helps too! I got more sporty so yes great for mental health :)

Lynx Stuck in sleep mode. Updated to 12 went out for a ride, stopped a few times the wheel power cycled normally and performed well. The third time I tried to turn it on it was in sleep mode and wouldn’t move past “sleep mode 0”. Have tried plugging in - it will turn on when plugged in and I can access app but still won’t move out of sleep mode 0 when unplugged… any ideas team?

I think the Veteran Sherman Max :) ticks all the boxes except for strong shell around the batteries. No suspension - no problem. Hollow motor and good features :) no smart BMS sadly :/

Has anyone ever gotten a hold of kingsong customer service? ive emailed them twice and messaged on facebook and had the store i bought my wheel from email them as well as the american distributor mykingsong email them and havent heard back in 2 weeks...my kingsong wheel is my first wheel and ive had it just over a year and its dead because they had a wire fed into the telescoping handle that got pinched repeatedly until it caused failure of my wheel and now i cannot get a hold of them about it. Its started to make me think of quitting the hobby altogether just because i cant get ahold of anyone about the issue since its not user error its manufacturing defect. Im thinking of either never buying kingsong again or just never riding EUC again since this is my first wheel and this is the kind of service i seem to get

I have a euc question I feel you could shed some light on. Do you need the self balancing feature? I've been looking at getting a euc for a while and had a thought why aren't there any GUCs(gas) or DUCs(diesel)? I have a small diesel engine that would fit between ones legs. What if I made a DUC? I'm a Maker of sorts I could come up with the wheel and what not but I got to self balancing part and I've never riden an euc so I don't know how important self balancing is. My idea would be the diesel engine drives the wheel directly with a chain but how do you do self balancing or do you need to? Can the rider manual balance? Also thought what if instead of a big battery I do a small battery that is charged by the diesel that powers a traditional euc board and what now 🤷🏻‍♂️ random idea 🍻

It's super hard to balance without the firmware. Not safe nor reliable in my opinion. It's like you'd have to always wheelie on a motorcycle. Still doable on a pedal unicycle because of its lightness but I don't see it work on a heavy euc

@@cch201992 I don’t see how a generator could provide the almost instant power that is needed to handle amp peaks on a Euc while being lightweight enough to make for a viable EUC. Self balancing on the forward backward axis is crucial for a Euc. Diesel gasoline is still superior compared to electric on many fronts for a car. Lower cost, weight, durability, easier and faster recharge and better security due to the dangers of lithium ion battery fires. For the Euc it is the opposite. Electric energy and electric motor seems the best for weight and amp peak handling that is required for an efficient and powerful EUC. Talk with engineers that are specialized with self balancing and they will explain this on a more technical basis but I tried my best to summarize why a gasoline or diesel euc seems a bad idea on many levels. Maybe not impossible but hell of challenge with probably electric options being superior in the weight vs power vs slimness trade off.

Yes you could so the energy can be made. I said it could use the already existing self balancing systems from eucs. I would prefer a direct diesel powered unicycle but like I was asking how important is this self balancing system? Because if you can't balance at a stop boohoo not the end of the world treat it like a motorcycle and put your legs down right? Have it where you sit on it like a traditional unicycle🤷🏼‍♂️ i for sure believe the hybrid euc would work and the diesel would work but be hard to rid probably

So you would go for a much smaller battery and recharge it while riding if I understand you correctly. To handle peak demands you would still need a minimum battery but how less battery would be needed if you charge while riding and how compact can the generator be seems to be crucial aspects to balance to see if it is viable. Riding a prototype with this technology is the way forward to see if this idea has more to it. Would love to see it happen, why not ?
