I remember getting FU when i was 8 and having no idea what to do, so i never got very far in the game. Despite that, the game gave me a ton of fond memories, my favorite one being my first time hearing the village chief "talk" which had me cracking up as a kid.

I remember first getting Freedom Unite and being so excited for the first time I would encounter Nargacuga because I thought he looked so cool on the cover. It blew my mind when I found out it wasn't like some super form of Tigrex or something because the whole time the game had been hyping up Tigrex with all the cutscenes and story revolving around it. I never got to play FU with anyone else because no one I knew had a PSP and I never met anyone else who knew what Monster Hunter was. This game was a truly unforgettable experience that was immensely satisfying to master.

Man, Freedom Unite came to me at such an integral part of my life, as a developing teenager, it came at a time when I was discovering what would be my interests in career, entertainment, and overall personal life.

kind of a weird transition but i remember seeing my uncle play monster hunter world on his pc, i wanted to play it and then with my switch looked up monster hunter and found GU then welp never regretted my time spent. so basically i started with the send off to old world monster hunter before new world

A fellow GU starter! I wanted to play world but didnt have a strong enough pc,so my friend recommended GU to me. Never regreted a second spent on that game, easily the best in the series!

it suck that those portable mh never had true online multiplayer. i had the chance of having a small community of hunter in middle school to organise freedom unite lan, and in high school i mostly play online with xlink kai but most of my friend couldn't (didn't know how or didn't have a CFW on their psp) but i still prefer local multiplayer. nothing beat 4 boy going to a café just to play MHFU for hours. also some local french site would organise big lan even and had hoc party but i was living in a small town north of france and couldn't afford going to paris just to play locally with other hunter, but it was a great initiative.

I remember when I was 14 years old when my friend told me to download mh fu on my psp to play with him. I was so confused on how to play the game but I remember we had a lot of fun with it!

I started playing back in 2009 and lost the joint save data me and my cousin created. Fast forward to 2013, I started playing the game again but this time, it's just me. A little later, I got tired of it and went to play MHP3rd which spanned until mid 2020 before purchasing MHW Iceborne on Ps4 and PC, way to spend time on lock down ... Now September 2024, I found my memory stick with the old save data and ported it to PPSSPP, I'm now HR8 and about to beat the progress of the joint account me and my cousin made that was lost

Hi, I started on Monster Hunter: World. To be honest first i didn't enjoy the game very much, especially on my low budget pc. But i gave the game after few months, when i had my new pc another try and man, that game makes me feel good and after a while we get Iceborne expansion that makes me love the game even more. After that i tried others Monster hunter instalments like Tri & Tri Ultimate. And i absolutely love whole series. And when Rise was announced i played demo alot. And when it was released i played the game all the time. I enjoyed Sunbreak more then Rise. But i enjoyed everything about monster hunter. For me every monster hunter game bring to us something unique, some that remind us that the game still evolving and still growing with us. I like to get back to older series from time to time and enjoy them once again. And when i get my new controler i will play more older entries like Generation Ultimate etc. I love whole franchise and community. I hope we all share our love to whole series and helping hand to newcomers so they can enjoy the game like we did. Thank you all for making great community & stay safe! Also see you all in Wilds! ♥

My first Monster Hunter was GU... And even when I started on a "spoon-fed" experience, I hold FU very close to GU at the top of my list. So, FU not only conditioned Veterans, it conditions newbies to the series! Something 4U was never able to do for me. (And I played it before FU, didn't like it.) Cuz I didn't had a good time in 4U.

Started with 3 ultimate playing with my more experienced brother, I remember getting constantly yelled at for carting multiple times 😂, eventually I got better and him and I were able to beat the entirety of the game including Alatreon

When you're a kid (today's kids, I dunno, maybe...) and have limited access to a few games you don't mind that kind of difficulty, attrition, and grinding. It may have been a lot harder back then and required more skill, but man, as an adult, there just isn't enough time to grind like that, there just isn't, the time saving QOL features that World introduced is wonderful! (But it's still grindy!) Kids nowadays won't play a game like MH FU anyways, at least I believe most wouldn't! I believe World introduced a balance between less time wasting QOL features and skill based gameplay, the early game is easy for veterans (but hard for people with zero knowledge and skill for these kind of action games), but the endgame is still hard. If not, everyone would beat Fatalis, Alatreon and other end game monsters easily...

I have really dear memories with MHFU, it's just a different experience from the other titles. I was lucky enough to be able to play it with my younger brother. Thank you Capcom for creating that game.

When i was ready to fight nargacuga for the first time,im super nervous bc i never fought it before and thought that this is going to be a hard one.then i completed the quest in like 10 minutes.maybe the trial and error from previous quest (dick monster and stupid big fish) did pay off

We the few who were ready to fck with tigrex early on the game without proper gears. This is something NewGens can't beat. It's just us against the walking hitbox monster, clunky controls, and delayed moves and animations
