As the only maintenance technician for a historical inn (1843), my daily routine has me covering many rooms on many floors. No elevator in this old gal so my tool bag needs to be light and efficient in the selection of tools. I stumbled upon your review(s) of the various Veto bags. Your reviews are thorough, informative, and to the point, making my decision on bag choice that much easier. Pulling that Milwaukee installation drill from the SB-LD bag sealed the deal. I use that same drill but had to carry it in the case it came with in addition with my other bag. Great review! Keep up the great work!

This has been my favorite small bag so far. I have gotten used to the no flap (which is actually better for function), but I still like the appearance of a closed bag. I bet that’s an interesting job. I worked at a place that was an 80 year old dormitory orphanage that was converted to multiple things. I thought that was old 😂. It’s always interesting in old buildings

I just got my sb-ld (I know, late to the party) and I am very impressed. I'm a shift electrician at a surface mine, which kind of makes me the electrical first responder for issues on the site. Not only does the SB-LD hold my hand tools and meters. It has reduced my loud out for my truck to 2 bags. My hammer drill, impact driver and cordless ratchet are carried with associated bits in a 17 inch milwaukee bag. And the hand tools and meters are in the SB-LD. I have a "rocket pocket" back pocket tool pouch I use most of the time. And a new dp3 for those times I need to carry a drill or impact with me. Fully stuffed, it weighs 24.5 pounds. But I usually have the rocket pocket loaded, so the SB-LD is right around 21 pounds. I was using a klein tech bag for years. But I felt the need for a change

Yeah, I think I can lose either the flip sockets or the pass thru’s.. I may have to run the pass thru’s for awhile and see if the length is too long, too often. If so I may have to keep the flip sockets instead since I can put them on shorter shafts.

I would like to have a flap myself. That’s just like it was raining here today and even with the bag in my truck with the doors open, I still got some sprinkles on my tools. Just opens them up for rust (not mine since I clean and Houdini the Fire out of them)… but for most.

Got this on the way as a freebie along with the TP-XXL - makes it much easier to pull the trigger on a premium-priced bag when you get two. I'm pretty stoked to be receiving two very promising looking bags both with nice meter compartments. This SB-LD could end up my main bag because of that. Very nice & well-designed bag by the look of things - as expected of Veto at this point - I can't wait to get them. The size of the pile of tools out of these things contain is always surprising - like a clown car. Seems like your setup covers most things you could encounter in many trades. In addition to some of what you have, I'll have a Wera tool check in mine, along with a Milwaukee Fastback 1505, and their new 8pc insulated slim-tip blade driver set '48-22' which are nice. Might consider your 51 01 210 carpenters cutters/hammerhead as a hammer stand-in (for things like wire staples)!

Morgan loved the video and finally great to see a loadout for this bag. I do a lot of low voltage work and been looking to get this as bag for my hand tools and meters. I think my favorite part of your video is the Klein 8 in 1 stubby with the Riley sheath where it clicks in perfectly. I found it on Riley Knife and Tool website but was just curious if that's the only place to purchase it. Also curious how its been holding out and if you ever notice any wear over time. I'm in the same boat with many that either the stubby goes in too far or inadvertently pops out and drives me crazy! Thank you!
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 9 ай бұрын
I don’t think he is selling them on anything else. He still hand makes them all individually as far as I know. I haven’t had any issues with any of mine. The stubby one is really just a sheath and some fasteners so I can’t see it really tearing up, especially how I’m using it. I have some of his for my bigger screwdrivers that have belt clips on them. I haven’t had any issues with those either, but I also only use them in special circumstances.. not everyday. They seem quality built to me, but even if you have an issue multiple people have reached out saying how easy he has been to deal with on support. I’m sure he would make it right.

Those adjustable wrenches and the two pliers wrenches seem rather redundant. I'd get rid of the adjustables. Though, I carry one pliers wrench and one Bahco big-mouth adjustable. The flip sockets work, just not as small a footprint as the Makita Sockets on the hex adapter that comes with the Icon.. you can get them in tighter spaces. For general use out in the open, the flip sockets do fine.

In my option here’s what you can get rid of: Side cutters- you have the knifed carpenter style , the LN47ACF and the knipex installation pliers all with cutters. You have the Klein stubby so you don’t need the Wera mini screwdriver. The knipex pliers wrench is technically an adjustable wrench so I would carry 1 of each. And they can compliment each other if you needed to use them on opposing sides of a nut. I think you can either get rid of the Kleins but drivers or the flip sockets, since they’re one and the same. And as you mentioned, you don’t need the hex keys AND the ball end. Remember what they say “ounces are pounds and pounds are tons”

I traded my 10in pliers wrench for a oil filter wrench because most of the time if it's that big its plumbing related and has alot of uses besides plumbing on big nuts. Like you I run 2 small bahco adjustable 10in cobras and 7in cobra/pliers wrench rarely do I need big nuts like that. The bahco adjustable wrenches are lighter than thoes in your bag or go lobster which are crazy light. My rigid one stop wrench has almost replaced my 7in pliers wrench as well at times since if it needs open ended its on the one stop.

Yeah my 10” may end up going too. I rarely need them (for what I will be using this bag for) and those are heavy. My truck is usually within 50 feet of where I’m working too. That’s what I have to weed out. If it’s a once every 50 jobs to go 50’… who cares. If it’s every 5, it needs to be in the bag.

10" pliers wrench is way too big compared to the 10" cobras. Would love a smaller version of those, like the 180mm pliers wrench head size but with longer 10" handles. The 180s are good too but sometimes they're too small.

I know it sounds crazy but I wore a mp1 with a basic loadout every day all day (when i was working as an hvac tech full time) it cut down on how much was in my tech bag because I was always going to have that mp1

Yeah, I pull out my MP pouches more than anything. I may need to think like that. Take a MP pouch anyway, then take the similar tools out of the bag 👍

@@MORGANSMaintenance yep I always had a beater flat head Klein hvac screw driver knipex dykes knipex forged strippers assorted markers and drill bits and razor knife and a multi meter in my back pocket so you could open your driver door and walk in and probe enough at the problem to figure out what else you need. I’m now a general contractor and my daily driver is dimondback mazo that just changes based on what environment I’m working in.

Yeah, they might be the first thing that ends up going. I can generally use a wrench to get whatever either torqued down or broke loose after the finger spinning. Not a huge time saver to have those all the time.

Get rid of your wrench and only have 1 knipes cobra like wrench + 1 cobra, get rid of all the stuff that isn’t accessible easily, by the time you need them or realize you probably be easier going to the truck and grabbing that.

My MB5B already has stitch damage where the shoulder straps attach, kinda disappointed considering I'm under the payload (about 20 pounds). Worst part is it hasn't even made it to a jobsite yet... I tried to stick a meter and m12 impact in the back pocket and was very sad i couldn't fit both inside. 😅🥲 Also, did you get the DP3, too? If you did, you should make a video on that ,too.

My MB5B hasn’t left my garage yet.. that does stink. I hope Veto doesn’t start cutting corners on things. I didn’t get a DP3.. my buddy might be ordering a bag though and I told him I would buy the DP3

You should get the dp3 it's nice i ordered the kp-xl so I could get it. The kpxl actually is really nice it's either on my front passenger seat or behind and I store common use things. I didn't think it was worth 100+ but the free bag pushed me over. Now looking back yea I would have ordered it solo if I knew how usefull it was.
