Lydia L Pineault depending on locations, sometimes it is required that surrendered animals go to a shelter. I know in some places in Australia vets legally cannot keep surrendered animals and must transfer them to the local animal control.

When I was a kid, long before the word censorship was used or known, some famous Hollywood blonde was killed in an accident. I can't remember if it was on the front page or not but there was the picture of her severed head on the hood of her car. If you look back to the '20's and '30's, the papers showed bullet riddled bodies every day. Now KZbin is after to a surgery? Why not put up a disclaimer before it even starts. I'm a retired nurse, there's not a whole lot I haven't seen, let me be the judge, I know what I can and cannot tolerate!

Turns out the First Amendment prevents the GOVERNMENT from sending you to jail for the content of your speech. KZbin is a PRIVATE company that can make whatever rules they want (see 'Terms of Service'). Nor does it have f-all to do with Anti-Trust laws. Guys, I just want to say thank you so much for what you do. I first told my mom and dad that I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was about 5 years old. Now I am 15 and I have stuck to it ever since. I have already started to plan my future because I can't learn it here in Iceland so I have to go to another country (I have chosen Denmark) which will be a challenge but thank god that we learn danish here. The fact that KZbin feels that this kind of content needs censoring is really disheartening. It's not like graphic surgery isn't allowed on here, I mean look at Dr. Pimple Popper! The only reason this content has to be censored is because there are some airy-fairy prats out there that only want to see cute animals, and they complain when they're interrupted in their constant ogling of pugs and Pomeranians by a small amount of footage of the work that's saving these animals' lives. The only way your comment is true is if by "airy-fairy prats" you are referring to businesses that advertise on this channel. It is the ADVERTISERS that are forcing KZbin to censor these videos because the ADVERTISERS do not want to risk offending any potential customers. And since the advertisers bring in the revenue, which is what allows you and everyone else to enjoy this FREE content, then they have a say-so in what is acceptable to them and what is not. Many of the other channels that have more graphic content do not have the kind of high-volume advertising that Vet Ranch does, because of its huge number of viewers. So, instead of bashing YT, or other people who watch these videos, I suggest you watch the ad at the beginning of each video (because Vet Ranch of course earns income from these), then contact the advertiser's customer support department and tell them that you appreciate them advertising on Vet Ranch, but you do not appreciate the censorship that they are causing. If enough people contact them, it might get their attention.

I think verified medical and educational channels should be exempt from the restriction and censorship. What censoring this is doing is limiting the education available to people who may not be able to afford to go to school for this or who want to explore their interest in medicine and veterinary care.

I couldn't agree more whith what you're saying. I don't have the time or money to go to Veterinary School, but I am taking an online course for Veterinary Assistant. This will only get me so far. Good video's of surgery would help a lot. For me just a 2yr. course, to become a licensed Veterinary Technician is out of my reach. To work as a Veterinary Assistant is the only way I'm going to get the knowledge and experience I will need to someday test in to become a licensed Vet-tech. Again, good surgical video's would help so much.

I don't know that a petition will do much. KZbin doesn't care about content. They care about advertisers. Advertisers don't want any chance their ads are playing on anything somebody could get upset about (like, a parent who sees blood in their kid's show). So they have to make blanket agreements to advertisers.

It is such crap that you feel like you cannot show actual procedures (which are always done tastefully) because of youtube. This channel is one of very few I am subscribed to, mainly because I love how real it is (I was a former vet tech) and I think its invaluable for owners/pet keepers, as well as future vets,t o see the responsibility of pet ownership and repurcussions of neglect. I admire what you guys do, and think this channel is one of hte best on youtube. Let's hope they get things straightened out sooner rather than later.

Yes vet ranch is done in good taste but there is a nasty crook in Kenya who goes around with his team of jigger diggers creating dramatically cruel footage. The poverty stricken people submit to his callous butchery so that You tubers can gross out and even donate. A caring organisation would transport the sufferers to hospital, but that would not generate money to this scammer. It is because of his kind of exploitation that the policy has changed. I have also seen some hideous footage on KZbin by ignorant, self appointed vets doing horrendous things to animals that KZbin should not allow. I do like to see instructive videos of clinical procedures, it is a pity that the outrageous spoil it for those of us who are interested in learning.

I'm here to tell you , having had a pelvic fracture, crushed rib cage & eye ulcers, that the eye is just about the worst. Lots of love to this little warrior! We are tiny but tuff! Years ago we took a daschund owner turn in for terrible eye ulcer. Only small dog I've ever had, he was a gorgeous boy & we gave him 6 more years & he have us much love! Thanks Vet Ranch, I can't do the work anymore but still enjoy seeing others make a difference for the forgotten! Much love
