Fun Fact: Tumbbad's Soundtrack was done by Jesper Kyd aka the guy who made the soundtrack of Assassin's Creed 2.

Yup I was surprised when I saw this on wikipedia. Jesper Kid should make more soundtrack, the OST from AC2 was bloody excellent! probably the best in the franchise.

I feel like there should be whole separate video on Davy Jones from Pirates of Caribbean. 14 years later and the effects still look flawless. And the way the effects actually don't limit actor's expressions but actually enhance them - spectacular job.

FUN FACT: the light pole sence in Singham was shot on a famous place in Goa.. and after the release people used to go there and break light pole everyday like the movie so they had to remove them permanently

Dead man’s chest has the most underrated CG in history. The character design is nuts. That film is still miles ahead of most big movies today.

and it was made in like a million dollars! The production value overall, the set design and all, It's easily worth 100x that. Tumbbad is really the definition of a labor of love. It was made in over 15 years, like MMFR.

I don't think they marketed it that well though, i only found out about the movir while in bus and some guy was watching this movie with headsets in his phone and this was the exact scene he was watching and i went crazy for man days just to find which movie this was from.

The Indian audience is very primitive and most people stick by the same generic formula these action movies have been following for years. At least old movies had some heart, but new movies are all just hollow cash cows for gullible audiences

More fun fact: singa is malay for lion, which is sound nearly the same because they both ( singham and singa) derive from the same meaning and nearly the same sounding word for lion, in Sanskrit. Simha (common) or sinh (runner up).

Bla bla bla muzzle flash. Untracked smoke. No casing exiting the gun’s chamber. NO RECOIL. If you are pretending to fire a gun, at least fake a recoil. You should do "love death and robots", there is some outstanding full CGI. Each episode is basically a demo real for a 3D engine but with some story.

The most important detail in context of tumbbad was that it was made on a very very low budget , it was pretty much an indie film , considering that , the CG is pretty well done

Depends on the Budget. 70-80% of movies don't have any good budget for VFX. Few large budget ones have really good CGI and VFX

What do you mean that influence Indian elements? Like it's a horror film based on like some sort of classic Indian folktale or something? Because if you're telling me that that's unique for an Indian horror film, then that's genuinely surprising. I may not know much about Indian culture, but I would have thought that would be a little more common, you know? Not super common, but common enough that it wouldn't only happen in an underrated flick.

Most horror movies here do not contain any actual Indian stories or folk lore as you said. Tumbadd was actually 🔥 I was taken back by how for the first time an actual indian movie, did not try to copy western culture and instead create something unique themselves. Who would have guessed, the story was pretty amazing. 👏

Anyone reading this, tumbbad is an absolute gem of a movie. I’ve seen quite a few horror movies and I can say without a doubt that tumbbad is one of my favourites. A very beautiful movie that throws away the stereotypes of bollywood. Movie deals with very complex themes of greed and survival. Definitely worth a watch.
