I grew up in Memphis when Elvis was still alive and we'd always hear gossip about good things he was doing for the poor and in need. Over the years, it has made me so sad to hear people make fun of him or spread false ideas about him. Thank you for spreading the truth about the REAL Elvis.

Glady( Elvis mother) would bring the fans in that would stand outside the house..She would offer them snacks n something to drink..One day when Elvis came home from a tour,his mother said " Look Elvis these are some of your fans". Elvis reply was. " That's very nice mama". Because she welcomed them into the house n gave them hospitality...I Loved that family so much...

Elvis was always very close to his family. His mother, Gladys, was pregnant with two twin boys when she gave birth. Elvis survived but his brother, Jesse, was a stillborn. His parents had no other brothers or sisters. His mother died soon after Elvis bought her Graceland. He was raised very humbly with a strong Christian upbringing.

My aunt was one his cooks He treated and spoiled his staff like family no matter who u were. Thats a fact. Everything u and everything their talking about is just half of the good deeds he did and its true. No fanfare about it. Most humblest man despite his fame. He came from good stock and never never forgot what he went through and if he could just help someone's life be a little better, it gave him the biggest joy. He was a blessed man. God brought him here for a mission of love.

He did almost all of his charity work and donations anonymously. Obviously, when you're that famous, some of it will be publicized. There was a little girl in a wheelchair at a show. He stopped the show, went down to talk to her, slipped off a $35,000 ring from his finger, gave it to her, and went straight back to the show. He heard of a little boy dying in the hospital that wanted to see him only 2 hours before showtime...he and his people piled into cars and drove across the city to see that little boy, who died a couple of weeks later. He bought a house and a custom Cadillac station wagon and gave them to his Cook, so she could get to work easier and faster. He did his works the way the Bible tells us to. He was driving his limo one night, saw a couple of teens jump another teen, stopped the limo, and chased away the aggressors.

Many do not know that Elvis Presley dedicated his life to helping disabled people. He often visited disabled people in the hospital (no press). Elvis and his manager often gave free concerts to countless disabled people. Elvis Presley and his manager Colonel Parker also paid for travel. There are also lots and lots of photos and lots and lots of footage of it. Many fans have often handed their disabled children or relatives onto the stage at Elvis concerts because they knew that Elvis gives them strength. Elvis Presley regularly donated to 50 charities - including some for disabled people. Elvis once said: "I don't understand why God gave me so much luck, so much talent and so many beautiful things when there are people who will never have these things. I'm just a normal person too!"

Most people don't understand just how profound that number was back in 1973 when Elvis performed the Aloha from Hawaii Concert. 1.5 BILLION people watched it. At the time of that concert, the world population was 3.9 BILLION! That means that over one-third of the world's population saw that concert! That's the definition of "drawing power'! I saw the concert on tv over 50 years ago and I still say WOW!!!
@matrix5000100
@matrix5000100 Жыл бұрын
@presleyrules: Elvis Presley sold an unbelievable 600 million albums before his death (1.6-2 billion albums to date). Why incredible? 1. When Elvis Presley was alive, there were only 3 billion people in the world. Of these, 90% didn't even have the opportunity to buy an Elvis album because they couldn't buy anything in the western world. Of the 10% who had the opportunity, the majority in the 50s / 60s did not have the money to buy a music album, which was expensive at the time. In addition, 99% of Elvis records were sold without advertising. Whereby other music albums - by other artists - had to be sold with a lot of money or advertising. With the sales strategy of the 80s / 90s / 2000s it would not have been "just" 600 million (already a record back then) , but 3 billion albums (until 1977).

He went to check on the welfare of an elderly couple who hung around the gates who he hadn't seen in awhile, visited a little boy dying in the hospital on his way to a concert, and went to an elderly woman who had no legs with a motorized wheelchair and money. His friend said he picked her up off the floor in his arms and set her in the chair. For all those that said he was prejudice that lady was black along with one he bought a brand new Cadillac for ( which made the paper). He took personal time to do smaller acts of kindness that I found the most revealing as to who he was. Polio wiped out entire families of children back then. Vicki

Remember, Tom Parker got 50% of Elvis' income. Then, Elvis had to pay the salaries of his band, backup singers, etc., and as stated in the video, Elvis never claimed an income tax deduction. @Rose Stoltman: 100% true. The unbelievable thing is that Elvis Presley was never in debt, even when he died, although he gave 50% to his manager and always donated a large part of his fortune throughout his life. It is true that Elvis - when he died in 1977 - had no debts and there was still enough money in his account to pay for everything. Elvis also had many luxury goods.

In the laye 50s Elvis met a young man that was crippled in his legs and hands. He was a big fan of Elvis and became president of an Elvis fan club. He and Elvis became friends with him and his name was Gary Pepper. Elvis sent him a check every month to help support Gary and his mother that helped take care of him. Elvis had Gary up to Graceland often for. family celebrations etc. After Garys mom died, Elvis bought Gary a house for him and his caretaker to live in. Through the years Elvis gave Gary many gifts. Even after Elvis passed Gary continued to receive monthly checks from Vernon (Elvis dad) unti Gary passed away a couple years later. I think Elvis must've had it in his will for Gary to continue to receive those checks, or Vernon sent them to honor Elvis. But it could be Vernon became fond of Gary too through the years, because he was treated like family and was there for important family events including Christmas.

First the critics said his music was vulgar, then he wasn't a good enough actor (but he was) then in Vegas he was fat (when he wasn't until the very end).If only his critics knew what his fans knew then and now . Aside from being the most handsome and talented man, he was the most humble, kind, caring and generous man ❤ No wonder he held up in Graceland to block the negativity. Can you imagine what he could have done if Parker didnt take half of everything he earned. 😢 . Another out of this world reaction.😅

Hi candie...thinking of you. I was thinking the same thing about how many more life changing things he would have done if his manager didn't take half his income. Just spending a few seconds thinking of his manager makes my blood pressure rise too much so I better erase him from my mind.I 😡

Agree completely. But I have seen elsewhere that he was advised not to take some deductions (mostly business) that he was eligible to take by Parker. Seems the reasoning behind that was if Elvis was audited, Parker's shenanigans might have been exposed, and his immigration status might have come out sooner. **Thinking of you Miss Candie - loving energy coming your way.🥰🥰❤❤

Just remember, when people give negatively as a reaction to your positive out pouring, they are looking in a mirror, metaphorically speaking, and their own insecurities are bouncing off that mirror and right back at them. The other side of that is, you have all your positive energy bouncing back to you. You are exhausted because any energetic exchange is hard work. Doesn't matter, positive energy or negative energy, it's work. I know this because I'm a therapist. Anytime you want to feel better, just remind yourself, at least you are immersed in music and you do have positive energy coming your way, us positive people just tend to be quiet because we don't have a lot to prove. Negative people spew, and I mean verbally vomit their crap with very little inspiration, sometimes just a word will set them off. The most that I can give you in a restrictive text is this, "what people think about you is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS"!!! When your mind jumps into that hamster wheel and it starts spinning trying to go fast enough beat a Ferrari off the line....repeat after me ....WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT ME IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS! Try that as a mantra and see if it helps with unbalanced energy and a pathway towards your inner peace ❤

Thank you and miss Carrie for spreading so much love! The guy in the wheelchair ( next to Elvis in uniform) was the disabled Gary Pepper with whom Elvis stayed friend with from the late 50s till his dead in 1977. He supported him with many things, like lifelong paying for a nurse. Elvis even supported other artists with their career , etc.... Another great video is "Elvis gave away 200 Cadillacs". To me he is a perfect raw model. Thank you for this exceptional reaction!💚🌞

Morning R’Elvis, another story from one of Elvis’s Memphis friends, …. One day when out in Memphis, Elvis wanted a soda from a machine, but never carried cash. His friend also didn’t have a dollar for the machine. A bystander stepped up and gave them a dollar for the machine and said not to worry about it! Elvis sent his friend to find where the person lived. Eventually, that person got a letter saying his mortgage on his house was paid off by Elvis. 👌💕🕺🙏

I feel the same as you Ray. I had just gone through something deeply personal and even though I did not want to be a bitter person, I could feel myself going that way. And then... Elvis happened. I discovered Elvis at I think the right time in my life. After binge watching like 5 documentaries on this man and his generosity I was so moved, so humbled, and so much in awe. I was like, "Wow! Elvis really did that? Say whaaa...?!" "It's no problem." Elvis said. Oh, sure, your losing your house, let me call your bank real quick and pay off your mortgage for you (and that did actually happen, by the way). And, yes, money does make the world go round. But how you choose to spend your money, is the difference between you making a difference in the world, or not making any difference in the world at all. Too just because you are not wealthy does not mean you cannot make a difference in someone's life. If you can touch just one person's heart, if you can make one person feel better about themselves, you have made a positive difference in someone's life. As for social media: I tend to think of that like Dr. Jerkyll and Mr. Hyde. It can be used for good and restore one's faith in humanity and it can also be used for bad, making others feel bitter and cynical towards their fellow human beings. Social media is a tool and like everything else, how you choose to use that tool says nothing about the tool itself, but a whole heck of a lot about you. Finally: Ray, I understand you have a life outside of this space and responsibilities outside of this space. I do not comment to get a like from you or to get attention. I comment to help out the algorithms. That's how I choose to help out my favorite YT'ers. I do not comment on every channel I'm subscribed to. It's just too much to keep up with. And too I'm a manager of an Elvis YT'er's page (who is also a subscriber of yours, Ray, Heavenly Presley, maybe you've seen her in the comments) so I know how hard it can be keeping up with comments. Anyone who has ever had to go through a certain of comments a day every day knows it can be a lot, and too draining if you see a lot of negative comments that you have to remove immediately. I AM NOT COMPLAINING! Nope. I am more than happy to help my friend out and Heavenly Presley is my friend. She does not pay me to do this nor would I ever ask to be paid because I do what I do for two reasons: Out of my love for a friend and out of my love for Elvis. I have met so many amazing people and wonderful and kind people within the Elvis fan community, it has been truly a blessing and a privilege. Ray, thank you for putting yourself out there. And to everyone here, please, please, remember that none of us are perfect, that sh*t happens to good, hardworking people and that the same thing that happened to them can happen to you too. Kindness doesn't have to cost you anything and acceptance of another you can give for free and both go a long, long, long way. You can make a difference. The question is, what kind of difference do you want to make? Okay, I'm done rambling... finally, haha! SHOUT OUT TO MISS CARRIE FOR THIS ONE THANK YOU 💜🌹💜🌹💜🌹💜🌹 & RAY THANK YOU AS WELL FOR ANOTHER AWESOME REACTION 💙💐💙💐💙💐💙💐 TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕

Amen Ray!! This is how we are supposed to be and from watching your videos I see this is how you are too. just want to share like you Elvis came back into my life I grew up listening to him and always loved him but now I Am IN LOVE with him he swooped into my heart like a superhero too just a fews months ago I had gone through two very difficult years with severe depression and mental breakdowns and it burned me up and left me in the ashes. I am so much better I am stable I've been doing well but I felt burned out and comfortably numb just going through life but not feeling it and I watched the Trying to get to You video from the from the Comeback special and hot damn Elvis brought me back to life that man is a soulgasm that reminds you what it's like to feel alive another song that got to me was Bridge over Troubled Water I had heard him sing it before but watching it live just ripped my heart out in a good way I was so numb and isolated inside myself because it was close to my sons birthday I had lost him five years ago to stillbirth and knew I needed to get out the grief of losing my son who would have been five in March, I needed to get it out and it wouldn't come out after five years of greif you understsndvits better to feel it then wall yourself off I internalized and became a robot and distant from my husband and daughters and I just couldn't take it anymore... numbness is more painful than feeling the pain so I looked up Elvis because I has gotten addicted to him watching him sing that song I wept, screamed and wailed and watched it over and over crying until I felt God just holding me telling me he was my Bridge over Troubled Water and I felt peace and relief and could finally sleep. I don't care what anyone says about Elvis, that man was and is a vessel for God to come through whether it be his voice, his giving, his laugh or smile he had a heart of gold

Amen. Yes, Elvis is God’s vessel. Someone asked me not too long ago if I thought Elvis calling was to sing gospel, but he won a different direction. My response, “No. Elvis‘ stage was his witness. If he had only done gospel, he wouldn’t have reached near as many people. I can only imagine how many people were saved, who found Christ because of Elvis’ witness and testament.”

The equivalent today would be millions of dollars of donations. To think he is responsible for almost curing polio is not unlike how the COVID vaccine saved two + million lives. He was so popular, he changed the negative viewpoint on vaccines and people took a chance and prevented polio. I remember when I had to stand in line for that vaccine and I am so grateful.
