I saw a video of one of his guys talking about this situation. He had regular fans that would show up at his gate by his house. There was an older couple that used to show up a lot. Elvis had noticed that they hadn’t been around in a while. And he knew that the man had been ill. He asked if anybody knew their names or how to get in touch with them and nobody did. One of his guys remembered that they had a personalized license plate. Well long story short, Elvis tracked them down and showed up at their house. The woman was there and explained that her husband died. So Elvis went in and talked to the lady for a bit. They showed a picture of Elvis standing in her living room with her. There were flowers all around from well wishers. I thought his actions, to go to that length for a fan, were incredible. Can you imagine Elvis showing up at your front door!?!

Elvis didn't preach his faith and humanity, he lived it. His fans enjoy his music but love the person he was, so humble and generous to so many. He didn't give a lick about keeping the money for himself. ❤ His legacy will never be forgotten. There is a video with JD Sumner when Elvis bought the ranch near Graceland that he told his dad he wanted a pickup truck. Vernon that's silly, he didn't need one. Elvis got mad, called JD and asked him to find 100 pickup trucks and gave them away to farmers in the area. Be made his point. 😊 Elvis is a discipline of his Lord and the best gift his fans can give him is to continue his kindness in the world. He is looking down and honored by all that keep the good work going.❤

*THANKS RAY* - Elvis had a HUGE HEART & BEAUTIFUL SOUL - HERE IS ANOTHER STORY TOLD BY LARRY GELLER / ELVIS'S SPIRITUAL ADVISOR / HAIR DRESSER AND FRIEND A story from Larry Geller, from the book Elvis - Behind the Image. "One afternoon in early 1965 I was with Elvis in his bathroom at his home on Purguia Drive in Bel-Air as I was blow drying his hair Billy Smith poked his head into the room and said, “Hey Elvis, they’re here.” Elvis smiled and told me he had a surprise. After I completed my work we walked outside to the car compound with the rest of the guys. A large truck (from then Bill Robertsons motorcycles) was being unloaded with 12 brand-new Harley Davidson bikes 650cc - six blue, six red. Elvis told us it was his gift to us and that we should pick out the one we wanted. After we selected one there was still one bike left. Outside the gates as usual there was a crowd of fans and tourists. There was one boy about 16 standing apart from the others and looking wistfully as we were revving up on our new bikes. Elvis asked me to follow him to the gate, where the boy was leaning. “Those are nice bikes aren’t they?” Well the kid almost freaked out that Elvis spoke to him. Stuttering and trying to get it out, he said, “Yeah, yeah, they sure are.” Elvis asked him if he owned a bike and the boy said no. Elvis laughed and put his arm around the boy and told him, “You do now.” The boy was frozen in his tracks! Elvis said, “Come on man, I mean it and take your bike.” Elvis and I walked away and watched him rev up his new bike. Elvis said to me, “Larry when I saw that look in that kid’s eyes I just had to give him one. When I was his age, we were so poor I was lucky to have shoes.”

In 1964, Elvis bought the USS Potomac which had previously been known as the “ Floating Whitehouse” used by President Roosevelt. Elvis paid $55,000 for it and then donated it to St Jude’s Children’s Cancer Hospital( that he had helped get built in 1962!) the hospital then sold it for $75,000. Elvis never even claimed such donations as deductions for his taxes.👌💕🕺

Even the "Aloha from Hawaii" concerts were benefit concerts. They hoped to raise $25000 but actually raised $75000! Elvis gave everything, and the world and those around him kept taking until he had nothing left to give. Even now, there are those who still exploit him. Priscilla, who was only married to him for six years before leaving him for another man, has used his name relentlessly to get wealth for years. He was a beautiful man who deserved better.

Elvis went to the Arizona Memorial after it was completed. The only thing he said was "Those guys are still down there." There used to be a plaque at the Memorial stating that he was the largest single donor. A hater complained about it, and the plaque was removed. I would love for enough noise to be made to have it put back,

Thank you for such a beautiful reaction. Now I can go to sleep! Yes, Elvis set the stage for all of us to follow. One time, I believe it was one of the Memphis Mafia, pulled Elvis away from fans ripping his clothes. Elvis told guard... don’t treat them that way cuz they are the ones who have paid for everything on my back!! That was so Elvis. Clearly, he was younger then and had to be more protected. His daddy said the fans would even scratch him. Vernon( daddy) said the fans meant no harm. They just were so excited. The entire Presley family were humble. Yes, Presley house is still going funded by Elvis enterprise.

That's correct. This man worked for everything he had. He and Muhammad Ali liked each other but more than that they admired each other. They saw their equal in two completely different arenas but both never stopped, backed down and worked hard to achieve their level of greatness in their fields. When others put them down, laughed or scoffed at them they shook it off and kept going, letting no one tell them they couldn't achieve what they desired. This is why Elvis pointed to him and shouted "you're the greatest" and Ali pointed right back and shouted " you're the greatest." They were both right and recognized themselves in each other. This video is only a very small piece of all he did and gave. It really leaves much out.

I loved Elvis from watching him in the movies growing up. I never heard anything about his great generosity until long after his passing. I do remember every year during the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, hosted by Jerry Lewis, at some point, they would announce, “Elvis and the Colonel”, have donated $5000. Always looked forward to hearing that. Thanks for sharing!

One of my favorite stories was told by Jerry Shilling when Elvis went to meet Nixon and he (Elvis) snuck out and got to the airport and everything and neither one of them had any money, and so they had to go through all this trouble just to get $500, well Jerry said the Elvis was over there talking to a soldier from Vietnam at the airport for like 10 minutes and he was thinking oh he’s been there a long time lol so Elvis walks over to Jerry and says where’s the money and of course Jerry’s like what money because he didn’t want to give it up and Elvis says, the $500. So Jerry hands it to him he walks over to the soldier and gives him all the money they had. Everyone should listen to that story it’s on KZbin there’s another Nixon story that the people from the White House also have a video of it is really good too.

Hi Ray. I've been watching your Elvis videos from the beginning. I've been an Elvis fan since I was a kid in the 70's before he died. I lived in Memphis at that time and was able to ride by his house with my parents then and later drive past it. I really have enjoyed watching you transform into a fan. You can feel it now, and it shows. Elvis was so good in so many ways that even if he had a bad moment, it was so much more outweighed by the unbelievable good. I think that is why I continued being a fan to this day. I have so much collected over the years lol. I appreciate your channel and look forward to the next video! Scotty B

First of all, Ray, you got a spine made of steel and a heart made of gold. George Cummins, may be rest in peace, said, "Instead of asking yourself why this is happening to you, ask yourself why is this happening for you." You had to climb that mountain to get where you today. What you went through is a part of you. You got to the other side of that mountain and look at where you are. Bravo, sir 👏👏👏👏 Much respect to you and to your wife for helping you every step of the way. Lisa Marie continued her father's legacy of charity with her music as well. Those duets you reacted to? Lisa Marie didn't make a dime off of. She donated all the proceeds to charities that helped families in times of need to get back on their feet. She started her own charity in her father's memory as well that helps people and families with housing assistance, medical expenses, financial assistance and financial education, job training and GED acquirement and college education, etc. Her foundation is now in ten U.S. cities. Too Ray when you go to Graceland you'll see that you'll have the option of donating to any of the charities Elvis once donated to as well as some charities that Lisa Marie supported. As Elvis once said, "I am so lucky to be in a position to give. The ability to give is a gift." When Elvis was still a very young boy, a tornado tore through his hometown of Tupelo. As young as he was, he never forgot it and that's evidenced by Elvis giving a benefit concert in the 1970's to help a town in Alabama that had been severely and adversely affected by a tornado. He donated all the proceeds of that concert to help the families in that town. When Elvis bought his first house on Audubon Drive in Memphis, decades later the neighbors remembered him, even though he only lived on that street for 13 months (before he bought Graceland). Why did they remember him? Because he would play football with the kids, give rides on his motorcycle or in his new Cadillac. And here is a story about Gladys, Elvis's Mom: The neighbors remembered her too. She loved gardening (vegetables mostly) and she loved having people over. Gladys would let Elvis's fans in their home and give them tours, for free. She'd make them sandwiches, bake them cookies, and give them glasses her homemade fresh lemonade. Gladys was also a bit overwhelmed at first of her son's overnight success. She could never could afford to buy curtains before and one neighbor recalled Gladys talking about the vast selection of curtains at Sears, remembering Gladys saying, "Ain't Sears high?" Meaning high class. Gladys thought Sears was high class. Just salt of the earth people, Elvis's parents. He loved the both of his parents but his Mom worried about him particularly. He would call her every day he was on the road and when he could he would send them money to pay whatever bills that needed to be paid. This was in the 1954- 1955 era of his career. THIS WAS BEAUTIFUL 🌹💜🌹💜🌹💜 SHOUT OUT TO WHOMEVER REQUESTED THIS ONE! SHOUT OUT TO YOU RAY 💙💐💙💐💙💐💙 FOR AN EXTRA 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 REACTION! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING 💖💖💖💖 Also: You are hilarious! It was brought to Elvis attention in the Memphis newspaper. an elderly black lady didn't have legs and was poor. She rode on a piece of board with wheels on it. As soon as Elvis heard, he found out who the woman was and that day he and a couple of his guys went to buy her a wheelchair. When he got to her house, he went in, talked to her and picked her in his arms and put her in the wheelchair. I know he gave money to the couple also. That's God's works.

What a lot of uneducated people dont understand about Elvis is the presely family were poor white trash.... hate to be so blunt, but that is what they were. they lived in many different houses in Tueplo MS ( and Memphis before hitting it big). In Tueplo they lived right by shak rag ( the black part of town) Elvis childhood was spent growing up with the black folk...except he did not see color he only saw people who were poor like them. they were of a strong christian faith and loved singing spirituals ( Vernon actually had a pretty good voice). Elvis mom picked cotton and worked at a cotton(textile) mill in Tueplo MS ( while Vernon the father was in prison for a forged check charge). they were looked down upon by the upper class white communities aka the term ( white trash). Elvis never forgot where he came from, his first love was always gospel music and a generous heart.

Ray, I'm dying to see you react to a short video (four & a half minutes) where the late actor Bruno Kirby tells the story of meeting Elvis when he (Bruno) was working as a theater usher. It's a funny, touching story that is also another great example of Elvis's kindness. Please do it! Typing in "Bruno Kirby Elvis Story" brings it right up. And I know my fellow subscribers will enjoy not only seeing it but watching YOU watch it. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙

A couple stories I've heard indicate that Elvis was generous long before he made it big. As a very young child, he was outside playing with a little toy truck he had received for his birthday. Keeping in mind that he had very few toys, when a neighbor boy said he wished he had a truck like that Elvis gave it to him. His mother said he didn't have to do that and asked him why he did to which Elvis answered "I wanted him to be happy". Upon hearing a sermon about giving, he came home from church, gathered up his prized comic books, and went outside to give them away to the neighborhood children. Early on in his career, when he had no idea how long his fame would last, he set up a foundation for underprivileged children, gave benefit concerts, and began his quest to help as many people (family, friends, and strangers) as he possibly could.

Even when Elvis was away in Germany serving in the US Army for 2 years, the German fans learned his routines and would wait outside his house for hours and he would regularly come out to talk and sign autographs. 👌💕🕺

When u get a chance listen to it. I’ve got to buy the book because I knew Elvis wasn’t a big drug taker. Love ya Ray. ❤❤❤

Elvis did simply because he did, not because he could, i do not believe he overthinked in the old days when he was poor, poor as a church mouse...he just did, never asked for anything but like all of us wanted more...and he had it, got it, but never got to realize or enjoy it...be careful what you wish for.....The word/Name Legend is passed around so easily these days, but Legends are very few and far between... James Brown, Elvis, Tom Jones, Prince, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Dean M, Sammy D, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe The Beatles, Freddie Mercury and Queen and many more but today everyone is apparently a legend!!!

The amazing thing about Elvis is that still to this day...he brings good people together to this day. When people share a joy.....it brings them together....all over the world. I am 68 years old and I became a fan when I was 6..and still he makes me happy daily. He was a true angel..and sang like one too. Love your channel. I saw Elvis 3 times in concert and it was electrifying...the flash bulbs looked like a battlefield of lights. I appreciate your love for Elvis. Fans like me would always tell people how great he was...but most never checked it out. I am so happy in this time there are more Elvis fans than ever...and they are seeing all they missed. I will keep watching your videos. Thanks so much.

It's so touching to see you learning all the reasons that the rest of us love Elvis so much. Yes, he was talented beyond belief, but the stories of his kindness made us, not only admire him, but truly love him. It's why our hearts broke when he died so young. We knew the world would be a darker place without him here. He would love your encouraging others to help someone in his honor. He would love to know he left a legacy of kindness that doesn't end.

One night in1971 in Memphis ,elvis saw a man in a partial military uniform looking through the glass of a car dealership he stopped with his. Possy being in the army himself he seen the man was disheveled , he approached the man & found out he only wore his uniform at night ,cause he was spit on & called a baby killer if he wore it during the day this man was wounded twice in Vietnam, had 2 purple hearts he pinned inside his vest, elvis took the man to his Cadillac dealer gave him a car, a ring & reportedly a large amount of cash, he also instructed joe Esposito to get him a job , elvis stayed in touch with the man & made a quick visit a year later at the church were the man was getting married with a envelope that the man never disclosed what was in it, , the story was never made public until after his death , Elvises half brother confirmed the story around 1986 when the man died & left the ring Elvis gave him to the Presley estate, he passed away , owning his own company his wife said he kept a promise to elvis that he would take his story to his grave

Elvis wanted to cover a Dolly Parton song, called "I will always love you' , which Whitney Huston recorded, and it did very well for Dolly and Whitney, when Dolly met the Colonel, he wanted to buy the rights to the song, Dolly refused to sell, so Elvis never did record that song, but I believe if he ,Elvis would have met and talked to Dolly she may have made him a deal where he could have recorded the song, without buying the rights to it, but that never happened. It never happened.

Ray Elvis always temembered where he came from and how it is to have nothing. He wanted to give joy to people , the joy he felt when he came out of poverty. I would be just like him if I was wealthy like that, cause I did it in my lifetime and left myself penniless until my next payday. I cant do what I used to do but I will always do whatever I can to help others.

I know that you know this: Elvis has the most amount of Impersonator's in the world, some of them even do surgeries to try to become to look more like him (witch is sad that they go that far) After you closing comments, now you see why I saluted the Human being (his Humanitarian side) at his grave site in Graceland instead of only the great artist ;) I have a funny little story for you Ray and it's a true one according to Bruce Springsteen himself. Bruce started to become a little famous and he was in Memphis, so he thought I'm gonna visit Elvis. So he went up to Graceland and climbed the wall and knocked at the door, then the security caught him. He told the guard that he wanted to talk to Elvis, but the guard told Bruce that Elvis was in Vegas. Bruce has told this story himself in an interview on TV, so it's a true story !!
