“No fake vibrato”😂😂😂😂 that was hilarious. I never really realized how shaky my voice sounds when singing until someone recently pointed it out. I recorded myself and listened and there’s so much vibrato in my voice that it makes me sound like I’m nervous when I’m not. It’s kind of discouraging and makes me not want to sing in front of people anymore. I stumbled across your videos for help with this because I love to sing.

The classical vibrato is so nice. A lady friend of mine uses it at her home. Even if she sings a song that doesn’t interest , I still appreciate the beauty of her vibrato. You’re doing it the way she does.

I would love to hear more about the physiological differences between the different vocal styles. After years of classical voice studies I lost my folk voice and can't find it again..if I try to sing with a more speech-like tone and more chest I end up with throat tension. I also associate a higher larynx with tension.

I'm addicted to all your videos hehe! This exercise was sooo helpful!! I find it really hard to bring out my vibrato after a long sustained note like the "money note" you demonstrated - do you have any tips for this? Thank you soo much Victoria!!
@Victoria-Victorious3 жыл бұрын
Excellent! To answer your question, it sounds like you might be a bit tight at the vocal folds for those big money notes. You need to experience the release of tension to allow your vibrato to appear. Follow the videos in my vibrato playlist and do the exercises. Keep at it! The high notes are always going to be more challenging for vibrato in the beginning. Vibrato - UNCOVER & MASTER YOUR VIBRATO! kzbin.info/aero/PLaWjWxiTysDDufptDJzaeHH-RK4A_mkj4

Hello Victoria! Thank you so much for all the lessons you've shared with us, it helps a lot! However, i still confused about how to sing with vibrato. I can't seem to change from straight note to vibrato, in one breath. If i want to do vibrato, i had to do it from the first note. Do you know how to fix this? ((im sorry for my poor english i'm using translation web))

Thanks for another helpful video! The "rocking" sensation in the larynx, does that happen automatically as a result of doing it properly?

Playing your natural vibrato at 0.5 speed indicates you are lowering the tone by a semitone then returning to pitch (as is for most singers) whereas in your exercise you raise the tone by one semitone (more like the violin).
@Victoria-Victorious Жыл бұрын
Healthy vibrato oscillates BOTH ABOVE and BELOW the pitch. The purpose of the exercise in this video is just to free up the vocal mechanism. I do the 1/2 step above and 1/2 step below in another video, but it is a more difficult exercise.
@db5837 Жыл бұрын
@@Victoria-Victorious Your lessons are wonderful! It is just that I have been listening to various singers at a low speed in order to hear more closely what they are doing and have noticed the pitch tends to fall and return.

Stevie Nicks has a serious tremolo in her song Stand Back right? But Smokey Robinson in like the song Ooh Baby Baby had a nice vibrato if that is the right term for the elegant breaks when he sings. Is this correct?
@Victoria-Victorious3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would describe Stevie Nicks' vibrato there as very fast. It could be that is the sound she wanted. As far as Smokey Robinson, I believe what you are referring to is when he goes from chest blend into falsetto. Beautiful. If your vibrato is very fast, you are probably holding your breath and singing with a high larynx. Follow the advice in this video. 🙂

I've been wanting to find what its called and how you get a very fast fibrato at the higher notes like almost falsetto. Charlie Puth does it at some of his live performances like in the one with john mayer singing "Boy" after 1:20 and "Charlie Puth Performs "See You Again" & "Marvin Gaye" | On Air with Ryan Seacrest" after 5:43. Cant find any specific info on it, wanna check it out?

@Victoria-Victorious3 жыл бұрын
A fast vibrato can be fine if it is not a tremolo. If your vibrato is TOO fast, check your larynx position or if you are tight and holding your breath. It's usually a sign of tension.
