Hi guys, if anyone want to shed light on this, please! I was wondering about a thought about Faustino's life, we all get this notion that we have to do something with our life (achieve something, enjoy, wealth, status, respect, love, relationship, explore, invent, create, etc). On the contrary Don Faustino hasn't had any of these, lived almost sober life for 40 years. Obviously, he was farming, herding and surviving, reading. But broadly he was just surviving or passing days of his life without doing anything meaningful. But, my question is, would it be wise to say that his life was a meaningless life or to be blunt, a failed life and he a failure. Note - I'm not judging him, I'm not even one to judge. I was just asking question to myself and couldn't get some good perspective so i wanted to ask you guys out.
@rottweilerfun95202 жыл бұрын
That's true , you can be lonely in a crowd and content by yourself. You can't say that his life or the things he did were meaningless , only he can decide that.

If you go into it with a good head, some good common sense, it can be enjoyable, it is a very simple life and going back to civilization you will miss the tranquility and simplicity, the idea that you can wake up every single day and do exactly what you want with no one to bother you or interrupt your plans.

Daisy Chain I wrote a lot of songs and music, began to learn what kind of person I was. I am somewhat of an introvert, quite fine being alone and relish the times I get a chance to not be bothered. I also have ADD which makes it difficult to focus on things, when you do the same thing every day, get into a strict uninterrupted routine without anyone or anything to bother you or change your plans, it makes it much easier to focus on things. I also spent time doing stuff out in nature, exploring the local area, I had bought chickens and raised them, I also had a dog. I did work, but it was alone at night in the middle of nowhere. I would occasionally see people, but didn't have much in common with them and due to my location and the night hours I worked, rarely communicated.

I got to be honest, I really identify with this guy. I spent nearly 2 years alone, hiding from the world. Once you get used to being alone, you don't want it any other way. Other people just get in the way, and it can become frustrating to have to accommodate people, when all you want is peace and quiet. To be alone with your thoughts, a book, whatever your interests are. What I see when I see this guy, is what I might have become had I not let the world back into my life. Even after I did, it took more than a year to feel comfortable again. And even now, I miss the solace of being alone. It really is strangely addicting, once the pangs of loneliness pass in the beginning. (It all depends on the person how long that lasts. Depends on how tethered you are emotionally to the world, family, friends, etc. But it does pass in time, its almost like social withdrawls.) I actually think it is a good experience for a person to go through at least once in your life. It gives you perspective, teaches you to collect your thoughts, and be practical. I wouldn't give that experience up for anything. I learned a lot about myself in those 2 years. I learned that I don't need anyone to survive but myself, and knowing that gives me a sense of calm I never had before on some level.

In any case, you wouldn't have the balls to say such things to another man's face. Keyboard Warriors have no courage without a screen and anonymity for protection. As Chilean and having been in Villa O'Higgins before it's critical to emphasize how crazy lost this little town really is. Just to get there it's an 11 hour non-stop gravel drive from a little airport that's 3 hours away by airplane from Santiago. Once you get there, there's a long boat ride to get to this man's place. That's the easy way of getting there these days, just imagine how was it like only a couple dacades ago. Months if not years to reach a place like that. Patagonia and it's neverending lost lands never ceases to amaze. Thanks for sharing this documentary.

Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter. The greatest concentrations of hipsters can be found living in the Williamsburg, Wicker Park, and Mission District neighborhoods of major cosmopolitan centers such as New York, Chicago, and San Francisco respectively. Although "hipsterism" is really a state of mind,it is also often intertwined with distinct fashion sensibilities. Hipsters reject the culturally-ignorant attitudes of mainstream consumers, and are often be seen wearing vintage and thrift store inspired fashions, tight-fitting jeans, old-school sneakers, and sometimes thick rimmed glasses. Both hipster men and women sport similar androgynous hair styles that include combinations of messy shag cuts and asymmetric side-swept bangs. Such styles are often associated with the work of creative stylists at urban salons, and are usually too "edgy" for the culturally-sheltered mainstream consumer. The "effortless cool" urban bohemian look of a hipster is exemplified in Urban Outfitters and American Apparel ads which cater towards the hipster demographic. Despite misconceptions based on their aesthetic tastes, hipsters tend to be well educated and often have liberal arts degrees, or degrees in maths and sciences, which also require certain creative analytical thinking abilities. Consequently many hipsters tend to have jobs in the music, art, and fashion industries. It is a myth that most hipsters are unemployed and live off of their parent's trust funds.

@EvaluateAssimilate4 жыл бұрын
@@delshadmansour5443 the house isn't monotonous as it is inanimate but perhaps your behaviour inside the house exhibits monotony? Break the routine and learn something new, develop a skill, refine a talent, take a professional course but break out of the mundane that you blame on your house. I admire people's ability to live without dependence on others. Can you image a urban hipster in the wild? Won't last 3 days.

This man lives days from the nearest town, on a place you have to get to by boat, by himself, and he still locks his door when he leaves the house. Good man. There are crazy people out there with the mentality that "oh our neighborhood is safe. We don't even bother locking the doors." B*tch why?? You afraid you'll break your wrist locking it? It's built in the damn door, and your security system ain't shit if the first line of defense isn't even being used.

Also locking due to animals going in is good I guess. Beautiful land he has.
