This hits me really hard. You're a good dad and role model. The way you talk about teaching him to drive and showing him how to be self-sufficient, independent, and responsible. My dad did all that with me and I remember learning to drive in a truck like this. My parents had a silver 1967 F-100 Ranger with a 352 and a three speed column shift. I remember sitting in the middle with my legs on each side of the under-dash A/C unit and my dad would let me steer. Then I would mimic his movements when he clutched and shifted. When I got my shot at driving it was a huge bench seat, a giant steering wheel, pedals that took all I had to reach the floor. It was a busy and dizzying experience but here I am at 50 years old and I remember my dad teaching me to drive his truck on dirt roads around the age of 10. I lost my dad in 2004 and all I have is memories. This video really hit me in the feels because I see you and Brad living those very same memories I made with my dad.

Hey man, you're Simplisafe pitch really hit me hard. 2 reasons. The first reason is I bought the Simplisafe for the apartment we are currently living in and it's super easy to install. The second reason is the part about the flames shooting out of your roof bit. My house burnt down 3 weeks ago. My family got out ok. The house and both vehicles were declared total losses and the cause was undetermined. My fire started in the garage, where there weren't any smoke alarms. We were woken to the sound of fireworks (4th of July leftovers) in the garage. I might still have my stuff if there was a smoke detector in there. There will be one when we rebuild that's for sure.

This video takes me back to when I was a little guy like Bradley. That's my name also but I wanted to be called Brad...Bradley was what I got called when I was in trouble[grin]....My grandparents lived next door and him and I were always trying to keep lawn mowers and his old clunkers running back in the mid 60's. I drove his 54 chevy wagon around the block when I was 6 years old .He was quite a guy, he bought a brand new Mustang in 1965 for Grandma. But we would ride around town in that old wagon and I would watch grandpa shift that old 3 on the tree. He was funny , if he saw me watching he would give it the gas and try to shift into second without the clutch. He would actually get it into second sometimes if he got the revs just right . I was always the happiest if we were working on something... I knew where all the tools and wrenches were so I was the gopher.

Bradley is a chip off the old block. It's great that you guys are doing this together. I learned to drive on a Ford tractor similar to yours, graduated to a'47 chevy pickup when I was 10. Truck seemed old then,. but was only 14 years old . Go Figure?

I have my peepers locked on a mid 70's Ford truck that I'll have my grabbers on before Christmas! Been looking at the rig for years! Finally got a deal set in so I'm able to grab it. Might be the first video uploaded to my channel. Just have to see what happens.

My grandfather had a '76 F-150 Custom w/ Bicentennial Package. 300 I-6 w/ 3 on-the-tree. Great farm truck, but was too far gone to be road worthy.

Nice! I just did front disc on my 72' 4x4, 4 on the floor 360 big block. You likely won't be regretting it.

You are giving that kid lessons most kids these days will never fathom!! My dad passed from brain cancer when I was 11 and he was into tractors, cars and tinkering, I’m glad that what he taught me pushed me to self teach myself more of what he taught me! Cherish each moment! Tomorrow is never gauranteed

That folks is called great parenting. Derek I applaud you for being patient with your son while teaching him to work on old iron. I don’t throw this out to no one but you and Bradley remind me of my dad and I when I was his age working on dads vehicle. I lost dad in 2017 so these videos help me cope with dads passing. God bless my friend

I love seeing you both working together father and son that's so awesome. It's funny when you said to Bradley when he gently put the truck down it a lot better than what your mother did. I remember that time when she drop the front end of the dirt track racing car. That was funny

It’s so heart warming to see you teach your son to appreciate these lovely old cars and trucks. He will have a total understanding of mechanical joys of old cars. What an amazing truck for a first car. You rock Derrick

I wish my dad had the ability to teach me when I was younger. I love working on cars, but minus a high school class for 350 engine rebuilding basics, I have been all self taught while working on my daily driver. Really need to get some funds to be able to work on a spare vehicle and go full teardown rebuild learning experience. You really could do well with your own TV series. You got what it takes, make the same length content, its all there. What is different from you and someone like Roadkill, minus funds?
