This is why I hated the idea of glorifying carteles and their so-called stories. I remember everyone drooling of the Netflix series as if it were a movie or documentary when In reality it's nothing like it really is. Stop portraying Mexico's violence as entertainment. And thank you Vice News for showing and updating me and many others of the situation in our home state 🙏 this is what people should pay attention to.
@tuanoful

Glorify? they end up dead, in jail or running things like they are now... it's just truth... Didn't you see what happened with El Chapo's kid? Even netflix falls short of that clusterfack. There are many cartels and many ranks between them, they have their hands everywhere. Yes, it's not as glamorous as it once was, but they are still there, living the life of millionaires, influencing politics and so on.

Tbh - I understood the difference between reality and fiction at a young age so this argument is lost on me personally as I enjoy the movies depicting this bloody buisness as a fantasy but when you have read the real stories, to everyone it should be clear that these criminals are a plague that needs to be exterminated from the core; and I don't simply mean killing or arresting, I mean changing the world that has created these people.

Displaced means people driven away from their home. They've lost their "place" hence being "displaced". The displaced are those that fled the communities like the group we saw at the beginning in the backyard talking about fighting to gain back their (original) homes. Those that were murdered are the ones who weren't able to flee. So when Don Chava was talking about the 270 people, he meant 270 people who fled that he wasn't able to kill.

It's a cat and mouse game on who is innocent and who is not. For example with what happened in Michoacan, The Caballeros Templarios were dismantled by "the good guys" Los Auto Defensas. Once Los Auto Defensas took control everything went into a shithole, tons of carteles were created after that. The same thing is happening here in Guerrero. It's a never ending war. As long as the government is corrupt and the demand of drugs is high outside of Mexico, this will never end.

As a mexican American, I remember as a child, going to Mexico and this situation escalating and have had my own family members kidnapped and we havent heard of them for 10+ years. I'm so disgusted and ashamed that the government is literally putting money before people's lives. Something needs to be done, but all the police stations are so infiltrated with corruption. All I think about is all the innocent children that suffer and it breaks my heart to pieces.
