I had the honor to perform with Victor, and my son was able to take his Master Class as a young bass player of 15. Victor is the kindest and most inspiring teacher. My son played Amazing Grace at our church and blew those Presbyterians hair back! Victor was so encouraging.

The whole song in harmonics are you kidding me.
@JohnBrooking44 жыл бұрын
I listened to this arrangement for years before I ever saw it live or on video. I was always amazed by the bent harmonic at the end. I couldn't figure out how was it even POSSIBLE to bend a harmonic! Then when I saw it live, it was a real "DUH!" moment. It never occurred to me that he was just turning the tuning peg! Sometimes the simplest solutions are the least obvious, and therefore the most brilliant. (Or maybe this is just a trick that bass players have known about forever, but not being a bass player, I didn't.)
@Indivicivet4 жыл бұрын

By far the most beautiful Bass Playing I've ever seen and heard - I love Victor Wooten's Style, He tought me so much more than years of technique learning could ever do... (the Groove Workshop DVD is great :-) He is an absolutely symphatic person. A man who plays THAT way, must be a good man. I hope, someday everybody will understand his message. Peace :-)

The most humble and loving person I ever had the opertunity to meet. If you don't know, he wrote a book, The Music Teacher. It's an innovative, funny little story that outlines things any musician can use to become great. And the moral of the story is that we all have the obligation to teach each other what we know about life, and music. AND, that being "different" can be both entertaining and useful. He tells the story about giving his daughter a "Daddy doll" for Christmas. I want a Victor Wooten doll to keep atop my bass amp to inspire me. Thank God for letting me live at a time when I was exposed to the music of The Beatles, and Victor Wooten!
