This 100% still works, although I found a little tip to make Aleksandr the leader of the Gentry faster: after firing all the Generals and Admirals, before exiling the first guy, grant Aleksandr command (you're gonna need the general anyways lol). Seems to guarantee he gets picked every time.

Honestly, tried this strategy when I first saw it a while ago. I could never get Aleksandr to become leader of the landowners not matter how many times i reloaded. Booted up the game, and that still seems to be the case. Usually i just get the same newly spawned characters over and over again.

You have to start a new game and do it all over again, not just reload. A lot of things are predetermined when you start a new game

Fire all landowner generals, grant command to Aleksandr, give him a royal marriage (make sure to pick the option that gives him some popularity) then exile the leader of the landowners. Since he is the most popular general he will automatically become the leader of the gentry assembly. Hope this helps.

Mistake 1. First tech is always stock exchange if you don't have it. Mistake 2 you get more construction points with wood frame at least until you have the first mine tech and have built coal mines at which point you can start to shift towards iron frame. Mistake 3 you don't jump tech tiers unless the benefit is huge(usually only steel frame construction, central planning, or market access tech). Here it's not needed.

Mistake 4 taxes in the early game especially in the places you core will be pitifull. But bureucracy is precious. Extremely so. Russia barely has enough bureacracy in the start to pass education which you desperataly need to find people with qualifications to employ. Anyway they are not running away, as bureucracy increases later on they can be cored then. It's two years for most of them. Only the caucasus is a 20 year wait(which is the reason that it is even less worth it to spend to core it now)

Prior to local prices one of the ways i cheated with russia was to implement agricultural edicts on states with farming buff and to promote the rural folk whenever possible via restricted child labor, homesteading etc..........then i placed conscription centers in every state. Every nation that declared war on me was swarmed with mountains of bodies and the pop growth of my entire nation rose rapidly year on year that my national guard had to put down multiple rebellions from non-russian zones. Yet it does not matter, for my people are happy.

I get told, build around your construction industry, however it seems i can never just get it that high due to the overall cost of building. insane strats. well played. however, maybe i dont understand the taxing system too well.., but from my experience from previous patches lowering taxes barely does anything good. id even increase them and go for even more construction-sectors. instead of 500 construction you could have 1k and snowball so hard, that you can go pariah mode and puppet everyone. with enough GDP you eventually have so much prestige that there are no other great powers left..and major powers turn into minor powers..meaning theres even BETTER potential puppets..

Hey, don't incorporate ALL of them! Because some of them (particularly in the Russian homelands) have very low primary culture population. To fix this, enact colonial resettlement or even frontier colonization since it gives You +50% migration attraction in unincorporated states. Plus, enacting Segregation, Cultural Exclusion, or especially Multiculturalism would give You more diverse cast of migrants in addition to able to incorporate states like in Caucasus, Eastern Europe & annexed Finland without any problems

This is the thing that annoys me about Vic 3, I had no idea 'abdicating the throne' was even an option. The way the game shows what is possible and what options you have for characters etc is very poorly laid out. It's a big problem with the UI design.

In one of my greece to byzantium games i managed to make greece the most literate and one of the richest country while being an autocracy (i was trying to be a market liberal autocracy while maintaining the orthodox faith). But holy fuk was the intelligentsia and landowners were were annoying. It was always the intelligentsia or the landowners trying start a revolution wheven i tried reforming the govt. The only loyal interest group was the orthodox church.
