Victoria Train Station Audit. Some Officers Ain't Built For It!

Yes you read it right a Train Station Audit!
I had a feeling this might produce some good interactrions and it didn't disappoint
Police officer clearly had trouble answering the simplest of questions.
At one point I thought he was going to have a temper tantrum.
Officer Beardy (aka officer Weasley) shows us not all hope is lost in the BTP.
Station Security Guards clearly need to go on some training but were humble enough to apologise.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I personally think there's milage in these type of locations for audits after this little experiment, but you tell me....

There's a newish female auditor recording industry and police around the North West area, she has a perfect response by offering defeated and deflated security people and police a tissue to wipe away their tears. She is known as ACE and does some great work.

Good point about the lost property. I once had to retrieve some lost property at Waterloo and they had a set fee for each item. I can see it costs them money to run that office, but I did wonder what the legal position was. If another passenger had your item and asked for money to give it back would that be theft?

@@gillianhill6505 I did both course, SIA for security and SCS for working on building sites. Pretty much health and safety. There is no training in the law, because they are not law officials. They're supposed to observe and report, not think they're more than just eyes and ears. 👍

A railway station is not a public place. It is a private place. The public have "implied permission" to enter. Any filming can only be done by being give permission by the operator - in the case of Victoria that's Network Rail.

The SIA course doesn't teach security in law. It's mostly health and safety. In fact it's just like SCS course for working on sites. Security are just eyes and ears, and probably shouldn't be bothering general members of the public.

I was going to ask how they fail to know the regs about their cameras, but then I remembered that it was the Police we were discussing. There was a video posted several days ago where a PC stated that their cameras could be set to record covertly, and the red light was not displayed during that recording.

Essentially railway bylaws prohibit photography /filming on railway property. However, with cameras being so prevalent, interest from train enthusiasts and the benefits from publicly captured images during incidents these bylaws are rarely enforced unless safety might be compromised. In this instance, Victoria station is managed by Network Rail' whose position is usually one of permitting photography provided they are not taken for commercial gain, film security apparatus or use flash. It is usually best to obtain permission from the station manager's office (at Victoria this beside platform 2 @6.50) yet the auditor chose not to do this despite filming at potentially unusually locations (a potential security risk which could lead to alarm). The mandate of British Transport Police is to protect the railway and their actions were quite reasonable. If deemed necessary, BTP can remove the public from a station for trespass. BTP's duties differ from those of the Metropolitain Police.

Hi L A, this one goes along quietly enough until these three dingbats roll up, she ask you are question without introducing herself or explain why she spoke to you, you replied with a question back and the twat cop tells you that you have no reason to be so rude!, did he not notice that she started it that way?. An argument develops in which they get more and more worked up because you do not accept their explanations, one of them insists that he does not have to inform you about his BWC, I hope that you see fit to lodge a complaint!. The fact that they do all wander off without you having to comply with their demands shows us that they do know they were pushing it. I think that you have done a good deal of good here today, the police should be paying you for the in service training you provide. Great video again TLA. I wish I had seen your channel a couple of years back. I was doing some filming at my local railway station, specifically the food outlets. Next day, I had two police officers call at my home asking what I was doing (they got my car reg previous day!!). They did not identity themselves or not anything and were quite rude. Asked why I was wearing a mask, even though there were big display stands around the station telling people to wear masks. Also there was a Pandemic on fgs! They eventually left after wasting my time and theirs. As you say... Muppets!
