Is the structure simply rebar formed into the shape, with burlap and wire mesh?
@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos8 ай бұрын
Yup. Rebar shapes, burlap or pegboard on the inside then chicken wire on the outside vertical faces... More fake rock how to info, including free downloads and more, at davehenderson.podia.com if ya like. Anyway, hope you have an awesome day! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)

Aloha Sir Dave, My names will. I’ve been in the concrete industry for 32 years. Mostly working building foundations and water treatment facilities. I recently shot a very large hot tub. We ran out of shot Crete and didn’t have a chance to shoot the bigger rocks that are going to be partially submerged. Couple of my guys are telling me we have to water proof before we shoot the bigger rocks….. I don’t see it being necessary. DO YOU WATER PROOF YOUR SHOT CRETE BEFORE YOU ADD YOUR “rock texture”??? Also out here we apply rock texture by hand basically sand and cement. Where could I get one of those fancy guns you use for the texture application?.? I’m 50 years old and, due to my brothers very un timely passing I have found myself the head of our large family. I CANT take care of my family without owning my own company. My company name is “Quality Pool Builders LLC.” Yes I can build very nice pools but am really wanting to get into the water fall and rock part as well. Any info you can share is more appreciated then you know. Much Mahalo and Aloha from Oahu!.!

Hello William, So sorry about your brother. :( On the Spa, I add faux rock to existing pools and spas all the time. I epoxy the rebar into the side walls and top of the coping then shoot the new shotcrete into/onto the rebar rock shape. After that I then apply waterproofing. I use a penetrating gel product call Aquablock XL. After that I paint on Miracoat Membrane C. After that the texture coats go on. So yes, I do water proof before my texture coats. But not under the added shotcrete. On texturing I also hand finish the rockwork both with stamps or without. Depends on the type/style of rock I'm aiming for. With the machines I use either a simple drywall hopper. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKbUqIeFd9lsaJo or a Graco 340E electric stucco pump. The Hopper uses a more runny mix with the Graco a less runny mix. I also add a gallon of acrylic add-mix to all mortar/texture batches, (3 bag mix in an electric mixer, less for a 5 gallon batch). On how to learn this stuff you can check out my free and for sale content at davehenderson.podia.com. My Pro Course is the most comprehensive if ya like. The other courses are helpful as well. Bottom line is to always be looking at and studying rocks/waterfalls in nature to see what the design targets are. If our work looks and functions like nature you'd done your job. Anyway, best of luck to you. Oh, I also have more personal training options at www.daverhenderson.com/personal-coachingconsulting. Cheers, Mr. Dave :) PS: here's one of the coolest projects I've done that shows the whole process on a grand scale. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ65nYlto6xlbMk

Man. Where do people get money like this??? For real. I want a beautiful house in the Cali hills with a blown-out patio full of tropical plants and a killer lagoon pool.

I would recommend starting your own business. I've not worked for anyone as an employee for decades. Instead I've started a couple of businesses. Two ended up generating millions in gross sales, (out of that I bought a house and was able to provide for a family of four for 28 years or so.) And now it's easier than ever with the many platforms online. For example about a year and a half ago I started a part time biz selling, (and giving away) online content based on what I know. Faux rock construction. To date I'm over $7.8K in sales. Much of it made while I was asleep! You can check out that little online store at www.davehenderson.podia.com here if ya like. We all of knowledge, information, and stories that people like, want and need. With a little time and effort pretty much anyone can start an online biz and make something happen. Anyway, just my two cents... For my blogs and links to other platforms you can try www.daverhenderson.com Have an awesome day! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)
