I agree that companies need to stick to selling their products. We get enough politics everywhere else.

Shout out to her for knowing that her identity, success, happiness is not tied to a specific job. Too many people end up idolizing their jobs/careers and that becomes their MO. Their reason for getting up every day. This mentality also harms them when they retire if they do. They suddenly have nothing to do and no goals because they never developed any while they were working all their lives. I have lost many jobs over my career. In some cases I was the last guy out the door, turning off all the gear and lights. Never worried about it. Always went on to bigger and better things and she will too.

Nobody watches ESPN for the highlights anymore. The internet, phone apps, etc. have made Sportscenter irrelevant. These things changed watching sports on TV forever. ESPN is desperately trying to stay relevant in any way.

Most people wouldn’t say such hurtful things in person, they have to hide behind a screen to do it to not deal with the real repercussions.

ESPN is struggling due to being owned by Disney....& folks aren't going to Disney World/Disney Land during times if inflation.

You would think by now that these companies would realize that they need to stay in their lane and quit playing politics. If people want to see politics they will turn on MSNBC, CNN, or FOX. When you want to see sports you turn on ESPN. When you want to see kid's shows, then you turn on Disney or Nickelodeon. It's like these companies are trying to go out of business. Unless your a business about politics, the rest of the world should not even know which way you lean. Just sell your products. It's really that simple.

@@Eric_Bassett if I lost my job today it wouldn’t bother me but if 10 years ago somebody said your gone - no more job . I would have been broken , no money and a mortgage yo pay. So I can see it from both sides but you can tell she is not in a position of needing money from that comment

How do you know if she has to worry about money or not are you her accountant? Or are you just some random person who wants to feel special? Maybe she is just speaking from her heart. I have bills that I have to worry about and if I got fired today I would just go get another job AND YES IT IS JUST THAT EASY.

@@brianadams6204 no quite, that really depends on what kindve work you do. You can always get A job but say your making high 20s low 30s per hour. Jobs like that are not abundant at all especially for people outside of specialized fields like nursing or etc.

All the major league sports should walk away from ESPN especially the NBA because they are due for a new tv deal and NBC has a close shot of getting the rights again.

Not sure a company can't avoid politics to a degree. I like Dave Ramsey, don't agree with him on everything politically but don't mind him weighing in as he's an intelligent person with reasons for what he believes. Often when I see people asking for things not be political they are actually asking for the views they do not agree with to be expressed in any form. I agree with Ken on a lot though would modify that in my opinion people react less to a political stance being expressed, and more to whether or not they agree with the stance itself. The beer for example could have featured a conservative spokesperson and the mostly conservative audience would have not reacted to the promotion.

The great Rush Limbaugh once predicted that sports mostly football as we know it would be destroyed by liberalism. When he said it I thought there is no way football would ever be changed by politics…boy was I wrong. Wokeness and activism has destroyed ESPN and most sports in general with a only few exceptions. I haven’t watched any of it in years and I remember a time that I never missed a day of watching ESPN and watched hours worth of sports. I’m actually happy in some ways because it allows more time for healthier activities instead of wasting away in front of a TV all day. I actually have more time to go cheer for the meat cutter at my local Food Lion like Peyton Manning does in his spare time 😂 it is way more entertaining than listening to grown men on ESPN gossip about other grown men that play sports.

I get it Ken, but social issues are typically and by definition about people. People work for ESPN and subscribe to it. So unless we intend to replace viewers and employees with robots, you better be equipped to deal with the nuances of people and issues. I work in HR, I’d LOVE if everything was about the job, but it ain’t! 😂

You’ve gotta get back to omitting random quips about social issues.. I mean, I agree with you that a sports network should just broadcast sports. BUT.. you commenting on it is the same thing as a pro athlete commenting on xyorz social issue during the big game. Your using your platform to speak on something unrelated to it just as they did.. that makes you a hypocrite. 😂
