I am one of those annoying shoppers at Costco 😂. I only go every few weeks because it is 30 minutes away. It is my shopping time and I look at EVERYTHING! I am friendly to the “fast shoppers”, but they just have to go around me 🤷🏻♀️ I have had that ad thing happen to me, even when I was just thinking about something. Freaks me out too. I can't speak to Costco, since there's not one close by, but I do have a Sam's Club membership. Some of the same issues crop up in Sam's as you mentioned in Costco. I love the “Scan and Go” feature. I have noticed from various "Costco Haul" videos, that Costco seems to have more keto friendly items. I wish Sam's had more sugar free options. As for Google reading your mind, how did you pay for the book you were reading? If you ordered it, or paid by some electronic means, it may know about the book, and just randomly threw some things your way that it knows are subjects in the book. I don't know, just a thought. Anyway, I hope that you are back to 100% health wise very soon! Thanks for another interesting topic! Love the Colton duck quacking story. It gave me a chuckle.

Your comments about Costco are correct, however, I did have a good experience at Costco last month. Their self check out was open and every single regular lane was open. Even though the store was packed with people (Sunday shopping) we were only one cart away from the check out. Also, we don't have any Sam's Club in Oregon so I cannot compare them. Interesting review on Costco vs. Sam's Club. I had the same thing about moving products, but mine was at Sam's Club. I had Sam's Club for years and years. I would shop there all the time. I didn't have the executive membership and that may have been my problem. Even getting there when I could first get in, the aisles were super crowded and Sam's Club was constantly moving things. One time they even switched the whole store from one side to the other. I started going to Costco because I wanted to see what they had to offer. To me, it is easier to shop in Costco, I know where things are that I usually buy and I can get someone to help me easier if I need help. I think it really depends on the managers in each store. But I am happy with my Costco membership. On another note, Aldi is my second favorite place to shop vs. Publix or Kroger. So personal tastes.

Scan and Go right! Like I also ghosted Costco for a bit but at least at my Sam's it's so much more dingy than either Costco that is close to me. I also hate their carts because they're so often not working right and their parking is narrow vs Costco so you can't really squeeze through with a cart. I've picked up a few dings at Sams which irritates me so I've kind of moved back to Costco again but I always miss that Scan and Go- Costco really needs to step up technology wise.

Completely agree about Costco vs Sam’s. We have had Sam’s for years due to location and just got Costco a year ago. Years ago I felt Costco had way more options in terms of clean eating, and I really wished I had it instead. Now having both, I’m not finding that to be the case. There are a few items I like and would miss - their organic peanut butter, organic valley whipping cream (although the size offered makes it difficult for me to use before it goes bad), and the New Zealand butter. Add the fact that my Costco is a complete zoo at all times with long lines and a crammed parking lot vs Sam’s scan and go, and if I kept just one at this point, I think it would be Sam’s. Oh, and ETA, Sam’s has pasture raised eggs, and my Costco does not. That is a huge one for me especially with the price of eggs elsewhere these days.

I split a membership at both with my brother in law so, I get 2 for 1 and am the primary. I love the 18 count - pasture raised eggs at Sam's for $4.82. They also have the grass fed beef at $4 lb. which is a good deal. Getting in and out of Sam's seems to be easy as pie, any day of the week. I also get lots of cash back from Sam's through my Mastercard. Enough to pay for my membership and some. Costco carries the ground Bison I love for $7.99 lb. and the Kirkland Ghee which is delish and a great deal at $18 for 27 oz. jar. My Sam's doesn't carry ghee yet. I don't enjoy shopping at Costco anymore though because of the crowds, the long check out lines and the line cutters. Someone has cut me in line the last 3 visits. The checkers stopped smiling on the regular long ago, nor do they greet me with any sincerity. It has started to feel mechanical, less personalized than it used to feel. I can cut the zombie vibe with a knife lol. I sometimes use my work lunch to try and get in and out at Costco, but I'm still left wondering why I keep this membership. I have till August to decide. FOMO, maybe.

Turn off oven and let it sit , don't open oven . Let cook till oven gets to luke warm on it's own, at least 4 hours . The longer the better. Comes out perfect every time. They can’t listen in with Siri. Apple is not perfect, but much better than Android or any use of Google products which gather up all your data from Gmail, Google maps, photos, every search, etc. They make about 75 to 85% of their income from selling ads, and the most from targeted ads, so having every bit of your info (little known but all tied together under a “universal identification number” by Google is why they know more about you than your family fans friends and they keep it forever. Apple, on the other hand, makes its money mainly in hardware and services, and advertising privacy, so they don’t have the incentives Google has to invade your privacy

Glad you are feeling better. We have memberships to both Costco and Sam's. Hubby prefers Sam's because of the check yourself out app and the parking lot and checkout stands (in general) are not as much of a cluster in this area. We haven't gone to Sam's for a few years because he has to take his mom shopping and she will only shop Costco. And he doesn't feel right leaving her in the car while he runs in to get meats and such. But I keep the membership, just in case. Oh, and with the slow shoppers, if they move to the side, that's fine. It's when they insist on taking the entire aisle that it gets to him. To a point that I wind up going to a store on my way home from work because he could not get to certain items because people literally kept their carts perpendicular to the shelves so they could look at items. So, my hubby sympathizes with you on that. And yes, he does most of the shopping as he is on disability and he has declared it his 'job' to keep the house and make all the food. lol

Can't take the crowds at Costco, and we have the same issue with lines. As for healthcare, I had surgery in February 2024, and getting the insurance to pay has been a hideous nightmare. I'm at the point now where I keep them on the phone reiterating how many hours I've wasted while they try to pacify me with phrases like, "I know how you feel." Then they tell me they're still not going to pay for a covered service. There's more, but it would take a book to describe it all. I'm writing a complaint to the state insurance department. Appealing claims and trying to get my medicine paid for has become my 20 hour a week job. It's disgusting.

I get up early and try to hit either Walmart or the regional grocery chain before 7 am to avoid the lines, aisle intersection crashes, etc, plus I check out the meat on closeout. There is a Costco in Duluth but it's a 2-hour drive so not something I would consider.

Sam's Club is so much faster and more convenient here in Colorado, I use scan and go - and it works great. Hate going to Costco - always in there forever - takes forever to check out.

Plus, everything at Sam’s stays in the same place. They don’t decide to randomly hide heavy whipping cream in the automotive department.

Can’t wait for Costco coming soon to our area. Everytime someone shows what the get I’m jealous. I have not really found any keto (other than meat/cheese/eggs) items in Sam’s but I do like their meat dept. we use scan and go at Sam’s that’s a definite time saver

@@Oursgirl88 Besides the warehouse shopping, Costco membership does have a lot of other nice benefits (like Costco Travel) and various partnership discounts they offer.

I like Sam's club but the closest one is 23 miles away. Costco is 4. We also have BJ's but they are 7.5 miles away. Costco is always crowded, like Christmas shopping everyday. I refuse to do self checkout. And the dreadful "death star" which I don't see half the time 😢 They used to have the best frozen riced cauliflower but not anymore.
@SeriousKeto3 күн бұрын
We don't have BJ's around us. Probably just as well as I really don't need a 3rd warehouse club membership. 😉

Like you I indeed hate the fact that Costco is continually moving things around. It's just so irritating. Fortunately our Costco is pretty well run so the limes are generally fairly short. Unfortunately we don't have a Sam's club.

Just a thought on how the "phone", heard your thoughts. It seems at times that it hears my conversations, even though I haven't pushed the record button. Maybe if one has "Alexus" that could be an issue also. If one wants to keep things 'secret" from your phone, put it on the doorstep outside for a time out.

So a phone can know what I read to myself in a physical book? Not an ebook on my iPad, but a physical book. I’m gonna stick with “it’s a glitch in the matrix”. 😉

Steve...the Dylan barrage is because they're coming out with a Bob Dylan life "inspired"(aka: we make it up) movie so they're spamming everywhere. Last night I watched a 3-part series on NatGeo on John Lennon. A lot of worship-level fluff on that one as well.😂

1. Sam's is frustrating, too. We bought Smokehouse Brisket Dip there to try. Loved it! Never saw it there again. 2. Same, EXACT SAME!, with "them" reading my mind! I use Google, too. Hivemind? Now I'm gonna have to look up "beavers eating" videos. Or, since I typed it in here, they're probably gonna start showing up on their own. So. It's not all bad. Good post!

LOL on Colton/Floppy's prank. The Bob Dillon thing...kinda creepy. I do kinda wonder if we're being monitored by Google, cause my hubby and I have each had several weird situations like that occur. I don't think I've and actually ever seen a beaver eating. I'm going to have to search that up on YT now. Have a good week! :)

I have a love/hate relationship with Costco. I love they have organic chicken for an excellent price and almond flour and other items I purchase, their return and extended warranties are excellent. I also am happy with the shoppers as most are very considerate and don't dawdle or hoard the aisle and the check-outs are plentiful unless it is near Thanksgiving or Christmas when the lines were/will be super long but I hate them moving products and discontinuing products or having products out of stock (organic eggs and organic heavy cream for example.) I haven't been a member of Sam's club for over a decade so I don't know how they are now. At that time they weren't the best IMO. My son lives in Denver and his Costco sells different items than mine and doesn't have many samples where mine has lots of samples (not that I eat most of them.) I guess I'm just near a good branch.

My sister and I were out Saturday. We were talking about a coworker's picky eating. My sister said there is an actual name for it. Today on my work computer, the msn news feed had an article about it. I texted my sis, they're spying on us! It's not the first time it's happened.

Well, now you’ve done it. I was intrigued by the idea of intellectual devotional books so I looked at Amazon. I looked at the sample and read three entries. How can you stop at one each day? I ordered the book and will probably get every one of them. Luckily they are moderately priced. Can’t wait to get my copy, as if I don’t already have enough reading material in line. Thanks anyway. biggest pet peeve with Canada Costco... after introducing us to a keto product that no one else has either the all, or not at an affordable price, they discontinue the item! bah!

We used to have Sam’s club in Canada, but sadly no more. My Costco is absolutely fantastic, I think it’s just yours. Try emailing your customer service at Costco and let them know about the check out situation. That might help.

Check to see if your Sam’s club delivers to you. Curb side pickup is also handy. Scan phone to pay gas. They have organic/grassfed ground beef $5/# and it’s good unlike ALDIs (imo) Costco beef is machine tenderized, more susceptible to bacteria growth, don’t know about Sams Club. I’m still working on my $20 annual intro fee, cpu is free over $50, schedule on line-
