How do these people make money to own these fancy vans or pay for their lifestyle?

Hey buddy, this is Stu. For money I make and sell handbalm for climbers, also do climbing shoe resoles. And once and I while I will take a temporary labour job. To pay for the fancy van I worked my butt off in the construction industry. Just wanted to clear that up for fear you thought I was a "trust fund baby"

No fear of thought :) It's getting crazy in Squamish (and other parts of the West coast) with "van life". Every other person seems to be "just getting by", "being in the moment", etc. all while living in their Mercedes Sprinter. I just genuinely didn't understand how people got by around these parts, especially with soaring prices from costs of living. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Thanks for the reply! All the best!

Its really not hard to put your nose to the grindstone and save $10,000 for a really nice van set up. With no car payments or rent you really only need $600-$700 a month to climb everyday. Very easy to make enough during a tree planting season or a seasonal job to not need to work most of the year.
