I think it’s a great model. I do agree with you though, the chest pieces and arm panels that don’t connect well are annoying. However, once you get it all positioned the way you want it, it look phenomenal. Definitely the most accurate transforming Ironhide out there. I paid $70 for mine on eBay (plus $20 for shipping).

@@DragoonMS what do you mean? ss14 is a more solid figure with proportions better than the 2007 movie mold as well as the HFTD ironhide. HFTD ironhide had incorrect left cannons, gorilla arms, and he was blue. 2007 movie mold had floppy chest, a plank at the bottom of his feet, and ass looking cannons. ss14 has solid locking points on his chest which is a problem that all movie ironhide have in the past.

The front shoulder fender is made to be part of the shoulder articulation. It is supposed to move around and meant to lock in.

I saw it. I get that it's supposed to add some range to the shoulders, I just wish it were a little stiffer or capable of locking in at least a little bit, because there are very few angles where it looks good, and it's way too easy to knock or move out of place when adjusting the rest of the arm.

Just got mine in today. Agree with pretty much everything said here. Instructions are trash, tabbing everything together is a real challenge and the arm placement is terrible. I chalk the arm thing up to the base character design though because every movie Ironhide I’ve had has wonky arms.

To help with the arm issue for vehicle mode rotate/swivel it 180 where it connects to the shoulders/fenders and then rotate upper arm swivel point 180. Bend the upper arm joint the opposite way and rotate the windshield/roof panels to the other side. This creates the space needed to store the hands. Still challenging to get all the panels lines up though.

just an FYI, the front bumper chest pieces CAN tab/lock in if you angle it right and push the wheels in. It will click and wont jiggle or move anymore. Its a game changer

Great review, but i too am disappointed that he feels rushed. I really liked Prime and Bee and wasn't too impressed with Barricade with it's inaccurate arms, but i was expecting so much from this figure...time for an MPM Ironhide 2.0 in 2020.

Fold the hands completely in at the wrists. You then will have enough clearance to muscle the side panels onto the rear. However the top panels don't want to stay in no matter what.

It looks good. The legs are the best part. But the rest of it, all the disappointment is understandable. There really are issues with the tabs. Also, the front wheels in the robot mode should be tucked in like in the movies. The arms really do need fixing and modifying.

The lack of photos showing the rear or underside of the truck mode were a bad sign. But this transformation is HORRIBLE. The ease of transformation should be the top priority. I wouldn't have minded a compromised robot mode if it meant everything else was better.

Yeah I picked this up few days ago. Transforming it to the truck was the worst... It's hard to come together at the front engine and cabin and I don't want to apply too much force. Arms are too heavy so it droops with the canons on. Robot mode looks really good but I'm just not feeling it. Likely returning it.

The back of the cab popping apart is the fault of the hands. They have to be balled up into fists with the wrists absolutely straight. Any other position and panels will start to fall apart.

Another reason why I'm virtually out on the MPM. Too many issues for a huge whack of money without the nostalgia feels of the G1 masterpiece line. I say virtually because I did recently break down and get the new Bumblebee just to mess with him before seeing the movie. Cool figure, but still a let down. The back wings and wheel situation just strikes me as lazy engineering. It doesn't match the character model so i'll probably part with him eventually. Anyways, at least this Ironside looks nice, but it's the ultimate shelf queen it seems. It doesn't even seem to be able to pull off a raised arm with cannon firing pose. I would have liked to have seen him try to pull that off in this review. As peaugh says, just take him out of the box and put him on the shelf. Hopefully some can enjoy him that way. Cheers.

These movie Masterpiece have all been problematic. They really seem to put them out before they have actually figured out how to do them. I really wish they would come in vehicle mode. At least we could see it once done right in alt mode, and would prove they actually do. Third Party have been doing better at transformations then these movie bots. It's hard to equate this with the same company that put out MP Sunsteaker. Thanks for the review.
