Great Job! I'm 54 yo so I was perfect age to watch original Star Trek when it premiered. Back in the 60's Star Trek was SO FAR AHEAD of its time that many of the serious minded adults just laughed at it or ignored it completely. As a little kid that watched every NASA space mission filled with awe to see Star Trek just fueled my young imagination! When you are 10 years old EVERYTHING seems possible! I'm still addicted to Space Exploration and anything related. Thanks for posting!

I love this! The ships and their lighting are absolutely wonderful. I love the pre-TNG Warbird! Man... I wish this was an actual episode! I also love how faithful you stayed to Captain Garrett's account of the battle. Four warbirds and everything. Great job! Can you give us more?
@AfonsoBucco Жыл бұрын
The shape of those warbirds is even more similar to the real world vehicle called "Bird of Prey", originally, "Oiseau de Proie", which is the French name for the 14-bis, the plane made by Santos-Dumont. Its front elevator, and its rear wings made it seems like a bird of prey, like startrek ones. But the original name is not about any military purposes. It's just about the shape. This plane have flown in Paris in 1906, in front of a crown, and cameras, which made photos and VIDEOS. It started from the ground, lift up by itself, and came back later in entirely in safe conditions, just like now-days replica of this plane.

This is still one of my favorite interpretations of that famous battle. On a historical note, the space of time between Kirk & Spock and the adventures of Capt. Picard and the Enterprise D, there was great expansion in the Federation and the entire Beta Quadrant was constantly on the brink of war.

@basherman69 Yes but I'm saying at the moment she chose to lower shields, in order to transport down and render aid to the Klingon survivors, that is when the Romulan attacked, having scanned them dropping shields. It would not have been negligent to do this if you thought the attacking ships had left the area. I certainly will take note that in future videos I should put more thought and time into these issues since I want people to fully enjoy the video without nitpicking lol.

Why weren't the shields up and operating at maximum capacity? You are entering an unknown situation and responding to a DISTRESS call of an Attack?
@Baseshocks10 жыл бұрын
Assuming they were, Romulan tech rivals Fed tech.
@KnowTrentTimoy10 жыл бұрын
Baseshocks Why would we Need to ASSume that? They are responding to a distress call from a Klingon outpost that is being Attacked.... Don't get me wrong but the key word: Attack would automatically make me go to battle stations, shields at maximum... ALL Weapons at ready and FULLY activated. Sensor sweep analysis anyone?? Come on man!!
@Baseshocks10 жыл бұрын
Trent Timoy They Rival fed tech meaning they can target the Enterprise warp engines right after decloaking. As we have seen in the series time and time again, warp engines can be disabled even with the shields up.
@KnowTrentTimoy10 жыл бұрын
Baseshocks The Enterprise was completely caught off guard to have sustained that much damage during the initial first strike. I would have to assess that as a breach of appropriate protocols when entering a potentially unpredictable situation. If I'm not mistaken, part of battle tactics includes a "first strike" on your opponent to gain a upper hand (the Romulans achieved that). The Enterprise sensors should've anticipated a 'decloaking" ship. This scenario was all set-up for the historical significance it contributed to the stronger ties between the Klingon empire and the Federation. The circumstances that occurred with this Enterprise was meant to be in order to forge the alliance that the Federation and Klingons enjoy today.
@Baseshocks10 жыл бұрын
Trent Timoy For the amount of damage given.. This is a fan made cgi scenario. The way i see it war bird declockes and damages engines. The rest is a battle.

@BoredomCorner Yes they probably would be up anyway when entering into a combat situation. I was trying to show a surprise attack when the first warbird decloaked. I was thinking that the Enterprise expected to be able to detect the enemy ships, not knowning they were specifically Romulan ones with cloaking devices and when there were no ships detectable they expected this to be no more than a mission of aid and assistance.

@satyrquaze - I had seen this video with the captions on. The captions explained that as the Enterprise-C was coming up on Narendra III, the distress signal never identified the attackers and no ships were detected on their sensors. The shields were down to render assistance to the outpost. However, before Captain Garrett could react, the Romulan ships were already de-cloaked and had their first volly of photon torpedos fired. This knocked out their shield array instantly.

@VideoSpaceFX14 жыл бұрын
@TitanLover8011 Yes that's right, the warbirds from this battle weren't given a class or type, but the creator of the model I used had in mind an older, smaller design compared to the D'derridex/B-type for the Ambassador-era.
@thegreenmanofnorwich13 жыл бұрын
I liked it. A new, consistent-looking design of Warbird, and it's generally nicely-done. The pacing could be described as a little sedate perhaps, and I can't honestly say that I much cared for the Enterprise-C wobbling on its axis when hit on the saucer, but I can see just how much time, effort and skill went into making this and I'm really impressed.
@VideoSpaceFX14 жыл бұрын
@Johnnymoo Thanks. Yes I agree about the warbird, there are a couple of scenes where the lighting made it look much worse. Right now I am sorting out the models for the various classes of ship in the battle, getting them looking as good as possible, so I haven't started it yet.
@VideoSpaceFX14 жыл бұрын
@DazhFX Thanks. Well if you watch the whole video, you can see that the impulse has a blue glow from 7:11. I consider the blue impulse from Yesterday's Enterprise to be a VFX error, considering all other Federation starships which have red to orange glows. However I considered that maybe the impulse drive was damaged which caused it to turn blue sometime before the point where it went forward in time. Therefore in the "flashforward" scene it is blue, which is consistant with the episode.

@CJCA915 No it's all done in AE with 2 layers of the beam plugin one with some fractal noise moving in the direction of beam to give it some "flow" and a second blurred out one. @satyrquaze Correct. When the Enterprise-C went forward in time to the Klingons it looked as if they had run away resulting in the Klingon/Federation war. The timeline "corrected" itself when the Enterprise-C went back and was destroyed in the fight. Though as we saw in another episode there were prisoners taken and, if I'm remembering right, whatever was left of the Enterprise-C was put on display on Romulus.

@satyrquaze - Anything could've happened afterwards. Remember, in ST III, the automated systems of the Enterprise began to break down and eventually failed completely after the Klingon warbird fired on it. The Enterprise-C was already heavily damaged from the earlier firefight. I could be wrong, but I think Geordi said something about the Enterprise-C's shielding being limited.

VERY VERY good. I am a Trek Shipper (I love my trek ships). I didn't care so much if you did do the ship wrong. I was too distracted by the excellent cinematography and graphics. @BlackGT2 Thanks, there are actually 4 warbirds in total (see 7:00) which agrees with the account given in Yesterday's Enterprise. I wish I'd made it clearer that the Enterprise's shields were down and then knocked out in the first attack as people comment on alot, either that or give her shields that fail later on.
@VideoSpaceFX14 жыл бұрын
@holodock Yes, I was not happy with the movements anyway but you can notice that the earlier hits did not react in that way. I think I saw another video on youtube which had the ships doing that so I copied it. Those are actually disruptor hits so its purely an energy impact causing an explosion, which would exert a force on the ship, but probably not that strong. Thanks for the input because I certainly like to make sure my videos are as accurate and plausible as is possible.

@VideoSpaceFX It wasn't established for certain that it had, but it seemed to be the point of divergence and it was specified, in the alternate timeline, that the outpost had been destroyed. It seems to me that, despite the fact that the Enterprise-C was destroyed, in the regular timeline the outpost did survive thanks to the sacrifice of the Enterprise-C.

@OriginalTrekker1966 No see video description and previous comments. The shields were lowered for transport of aid to the stricken outpost and then damaged by the attack. I believe that the Enterprise fought the warbirds alone since there is no mention of Klingon ships when Garrett speaks of the event in Yesterday's Enterprise. I was going to have a few Klingon ships arriving as an ending but I didn't get round to it.

@VideoSpaceFX14 жыл бұрын
@basherman69 Yes well it's something of an oversight, I had intended that the Enterprise had assumed there were no attacking ships present. The distress call did not specify who was attacking, therefore the ship would have ended red alert and dropped shields to transport down and render aid. At this point the Romulan attacked. The thing is I rendered that scene literally months ago and I did the titles just before uploading it, so by then I had forgot what my thinking was about the scene!

@mayena Right, Blood enemies. There very possibly could have been a Klingon/Romulan war during this period which the Federation stayed out of. The attack on Narendra III is canon. Captain Garrett said there were four Warbirds. We simply don't know how the Klingons responded. The Romulans wern't really big on talking about what they were up to during the 50 years of isolation from the Federation.

@Hienn Yes it's from "Let's Get Out of Here" from the Star Trek V OST, used in the scene where Spock tells Kirk not to hug him infront of the Klingons.

@basherman69 Yes, she did know by then since the battle had already begun and her ship was already heavily damaged before being pulled into the time rift. My thinking was the actual distress signal had not identified the ships as Romulan and they would not find that out until the ship decloaked and attacked. Had I put in a title saying this the suprise decloaking and attack would have made alot more sense! That's a good suggestion I will definitely do a TOS-era vid at some point.

@satyrquaze - Like I stated, I could be wrong. However, I did find something interesting. During Capt. Garrett's conversation with Picard, she mentioned about responding to the distress call. She told Picard this: "The Romulan's were attacking it, we engaged them." This would suggest that the Enterprise-C entered the Narendra system and witnessed the attack and moved in to fight the warbirds. This also suggests that the warbirds were not cloaked when the Enterprise-C came up on them.
