Viessmann 50 combi boiler issue

Im considering installing Viessmann myself, i like modulation range which makes them perfect for modern well insulated homes. Im sure there will be a setting that will resolve this issue and its good that they can log into the appliance and look at the setup

Also found that if using comfort setting on HW the boiler heats the plate too temp then dumps the surplus heat from the heat exchanger into the heating - on small system’s customers find the rads get warm even though there is no call on heating

As an oldie I love hearing about all the modern tech, but sometimes wonder if it has gone too far. This is lightyears from the gas flame under a bucket of water and pumping it round! Huge savings in running cost and pollution, but complexity and not always satisfactory for the customer because it is 'eco' luke warm, despite being connected to the internet! Well done, love your content.

It's certainly a strange one, surely opentherm controls how the boiler modulates and the flow temp is set up in the boiler

If the client can use the ViCare app just fit an outdoor sensor and run it weather comp best solution and cheaper than a open thermostat / second best use the ViCare Thermostat

In my experience most customers struggle to accept that there is no thermostat in the house. Apparently the Vitotroll stat will be compatible with the 50 soon which would help 👍🏻

Doesn't look good on you with the customer. Customer just wants heat and hot water and doesn't understand anything past that. They will just think you have installed complicated rubbish sadly when really your trying to save them money.
