On their Ho Chi Minh City - Ha Noi route, which is a bit more than 2 hours long, you'll be served a small snack and water, and if your flight is lunch or dinner time, a meal will be served. The plane you flew was the newest A350 in VNA's fleet. They usually use an A321 or A321 Neo for this route, A350 and B787 are very rare to find.

What is the situation regarding wearing masks on flights now? I will soon be booking a direct flight with VA from London to HCMC but the thought of having to wear a mask for over 12 hours is unthinkable.

I'm not sure of international flights, but on their domestic flights, you don't need to wear mask right now

no longer compulsory, I have flown from HN->Frankfurt in January and it’s no problem
