My dad was a Green Beret and suffered from PTSD. My senior year of high school he got super mad (just like Tom talks about in the first 15min) and he just ended it all…in our kitchen…standing beside the table…3 feet from my mom and siblings. I so wish that he was here today to watch and listen to this episode. Tom and Shawn both hit the head of the nail on this one. Everything they mentioned, I witnessed growing up. We walked on eggshells 24/7 trying to avoid doing anything that would trigger him. Awesome episode. Thank you for raising awareness

I'm never alone because I have the Lord JESUS CHRIST with me. He will never leave me. We the American people must pray for these men for their salvation, healing, restoration and deliverance from the drugs that make people want to kill themselves. America needs STRONG male leadership who are godly and righteous, but we won't have that if men keep killing themselves. It has to stop with prayer, God's love, the Bible, nutrition and natural medicine even if the Lord JESUS has to walk through a wall and tell each man that HE loves them. "Please don't give up men. We need you!!"

Hi, I’m a 22 year old woman and I’m from Arizona. What advice would you give to a woman that wants to be a Delta Force assaulter? How does the Delta community feel about women joining them? If you had to go to Delta Force selection again, how would you prepare differently? Has a woman ever graduated from the Operators Training Course? I’m 5’8” and 168lbs, is that a good or bad size? What books or workout programs would you recommend to prepare for it?

I finished this whole series today. This was probably one of the best interviews on so many different levels that I have ever listened to. I am glad he shared this with us. Some of it reminds me of a friend I lost. He was a federal law enforcement guy, not a military veteran, but he had some PTSD issues that I didn’t understand despite my best efforts to. He didn’t commit suicide, but he slowly killed himself with alcohol. It was very sad, but listening to this, especially Part 3, helped me feel like I have a better understanding of it. Thank you all.

@briangrady367 I hear ya, brother. They way these 2 have had me change the way I look at myself just through their videos. Was like a light switch. To where I just shut everyone off or meet things with anger so people would leave me alone. Was misable, I hated it. But that was all I understood. But now I think of others feeling and going into uncomfortable places. Now I am not fixed, but way better. Thanks to these 2 special people. Thanks for your comment.

This interview is going to be a doozy for me. I love it already. Thank you for your service Sir! Hey Shawn. I love your podcasts, and I just wanted to let you know that they are helping people who are NOT war veterans. I'm just an ICU nurse. I worked through the pandemic and I have been having a really hard time dealing with the amount of death I have seen and the traumatic nightmares I have had to watch people go through, on a daily basis during that event and overall for the past 10 years I have been a nurse. The intro to this podcast with Tom really really helped me, along with your other podcasts. Sometimes I feel my trauma is nothing compared to what other people have seen or done. But, I'm learning thats not the case. Just trying to say, thank you brother. And thank you Tom.

These shows help a lot. Working in a career field that has a lot of traumatic events, high suicide rates, high divorce rates, and trying to learn how to change is always easier said than done. A few years ago, I was involved in a traumatic event, which I always did great with turning work off when I left. However this event changed something, I couldn’t drive in traffic, I couldn’t walk at times, I would lay on the couch and just vomit for days. After about 8 weeks of this I finally started being able to talk to my wife a little about what happened, listening to these vets talk about PTSD has help me overcome a lot.

I was in the German army for 9 month as a conscript. And since I studied law afterwards, I was thinking about signing for 2 years to have a financial cushion. And when I said this one day, the Colonel took me aside and said: Now listen, and listen carefully. You don't wanna go in a warzone and come home with PTSD, no matter how much they pay you. Go study with less money, but forget about this right now. Guess this was a really good advice...
@shayewilliamsonwilliamson5978 ай бұрын
He was giving you great advice. Going to war would've, most likely, caused you to not have the ability to continue your career in that are. Your thought processes and wit would've suffered from the trauma and changed your life completely. I'd say he knew you were good at what you were doing and knew people needed you at your best. Great minds have different gifts and I believe that's what he saw in you. Your gift wad to help, protect, and fight in a different war, for people that needed you to be exactly who you are. His experience is what caused him to pull you aside and give you his advice. He must have really thought a lot of you and had faith in the direction you were going.
