John Lovell is a former Army Ranger turned creator, homesteader and best-selling author. Lovell is the founder of the Warrior Poet Society, a values-based community geared towards training, preparedness, and spirituality.
Part one of this four part series is all about Lovell's childhood and early life. Lovell is a successful and well known creator, but his origin story has largely remained a mystery until now. We also explore his entry into the 2nd Ranger Battalion and his radical transformation into a believer.

I think a good way to stop school shootings is to employ Veterans as security at the schools. Employ them as state security and give them a thorough psych evaluation. This helps stop mass shootings and gets good veterans off the street. You don’t have to spend a ton of money training a veteran because they learned most of it in the military opposed to training teachers on tactics/shooting. This will also help the veteran (in my own opinion) suicide rate go down as well due to a sense of purpose protecting the children of the country. Let me know what you think Shawn, I know it’s not all ironed out but this is like the main points. @ShawnRyanShowOfficial

If our country had more patriots like Shawn Ryan and John Lovell, our national security wouldn’t be in the crisis it’s in now🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
@luggnutz
@luggnutz 8 ай бұрын
There are patriots like them all around you. Some are being vilified, some are in or getting into politics, some are quiet and giving in other ways, and there are others on youtube as well. The real issue with national security is at the top, because there are states and counties within states that are doing all they can, but it is an uphill battle when the Fed is suing them and telling them to cease and desist. Notice how the border patrol has been relegated to administration instead of arrest, detain, return.

This was a really great interview. I've been following him for almost 4 years now and I've never realized how much he doesn't like to talk about his childhood, formative years, etc. It's a testament as to why SRS is where it's at. Pulling teeth kinda feels like an understatement. 😂 I was hoping you'd get him on since #001 w/ Glover but I think it's a blessing that it's just happening now. I've been struggling w/ my faith for 11 years, dark years now. You don't have to have a strong relationship Jesus to clearly see that his faith isn't merely a branch of the things that make him, him. It's foundational. They can't be separated. You having just started to reconnect with your faith in past months is what popped in my head when I saw the notification for this episode. Again, REALLY great job with this one and I can't wait for part 2 to drop!

It’s hard to imagine John Lovell as a teenage wild child doing drugs & getting into trouble. As hard as it was for him to get shipped off to boarding school, it likely saved his life and his future. Really interesting story about how Jesus remade John. That’s my favorite part, so far. I hope there will be much more conversation about leadership and John’s approach to leadership, in parts 2 & 3. You could 100% hear the seriousness in his voice. PURE poetry. This guy was reliving his masterpiece of a composition to a symphony of violence he was wholeheartedly playing for the enemy of our nation. Sean i absolutely love the way you conduct these interviews. A lot of people mention how you let people finish their piece and don't interrupt but it's much more than that. Your tone, the way you catch onto how they need to let something out at specific moments and then relating to trauma so openly with these guys too...thank you so much for these masterful interviews. Shawn, watching this interview first thought is how incredible it is to see how you have changed over the years in these interviews. You are so much more present and aware of everything. The questions you ask are more insightful, and how you guide the interview is so great to watch. Incredible to see your growth. Keep up the hard work, the fruit of it is obvious.

My freshman year of high school I weighed 125 and sucked down to 103 to wrestle varsity. I feel your pain. Becoming a Marine and knowing the and feeling the pain made me pass every school I went to. That wrestling story hit home with me. Massachusetts wrestling was hard core in the 90's. I've been waiting to see John on here great job Shawn .

My sophomore year I went from 125 to 98. It is still one of the dumbest things I've ever done; though, it did make me mentally strong. After that, I was in really good shape, eating clean, and then wrestled whatever weight class was closest. 3rd my junior year (losing in the State semis to a 3-timer) and being undefeated my senior year. After wrestling, everything else in life is easier. Yes indeed; Jesus does save, the vilest of sinners (me)!!!

I was into karting in my youth. What many don't realize is that kids learn a lot about problem solving skills when they get into driving in general. Whether it's a backyard 2-seater or actual racing karts. Kids learn how to navigate risk assessments, too. Looking back, the fun and going fast was just a bonus.

His exact words to them when they said step over here and put your hands on the wall were "Were gonna run to the woodline...and you won't catch us." To which the cop replied with a pleading voice..."dont?" They didn't catch us haha.

We do know what you mean. John Lovell doesn't delve into his background much at all and what I've heard is talked about very sparingly. It's actually refreshing and his emphasis is very much on his faith and what he's doing now which is awesome and inspiring. He's a great Christian role model and still very young and vibrant. Role models don't always have to be older than us. There are a lot of young Vets out there who have a ton to offer in life experience.

edit: I realize now that I got onto this video so fast I managed to watch it before it was set to premier in two days. John has been extremely inspiring to me for some time now. I grew up without a father and although I'm not religious and fail to understand John's focus on religion, he has solidified my view on what kind of man I want to be (provider, protector, family man). I am really thankful that there are men like him who can show young men like me what really matters in life. Listening to this interview has allowed me to draw some parallels between John and me in regards to how he wanted to join the military and ended up doing it. It has sort of given me a boost of confidence that I can follow my dream and do what I want, even though our situations are very different. Ill be 23 this year, finishing my last year of college, and all I can think of every day is how much I want to be a part of US special operation. Sadly for me, I'm halfway across the world with no ties to the US, and to top it off I am in the worst shape of my life as I start to enter early obesity. My family thought that I was joking when I told them that I want to move to the US and enlist in the army. I should be focused on finishing my studies, yet, but again, all I can think of is how do I move to the US.
