Another great tip a msitake i made in my previous toyotas is if the belts match the same length , and everything is right and it still doesnt fit even when moving the tensioners. Remember to go as far right with the bar then move it left to move the tensioner to its full potential, if you under shoot it wont ever fit, that tensioner can move a good amount.

It sure can, one learns that overtime. Excellent point nonetheless. 👊🏻

Hi mate, I’d really appreciate your input on this. About three weeks ago, while I was out guiding, my car suddenly wouldn’t start. The battery is relatively new-only five months old-so I was quite surprised. I ended up waiting for roadside assistance to jump-start it. Afterward, I took the car to AutoZone, where they tested the battery and confirmed it was in good condition with no issues. However, during a second test (where they had me rev the engine to 2,500 RPM), they found that the alternator wasn’t producing enough voltage-13.8V instead of the required 14.5V. Everything seemed fine until this week, when I had another issue while guiding. After some off-road driving to reach remote beaches requiring 4x4, I experienced the same problem. Fortunately, I had decided to buy a battery jumper as a precaution after the first incident. It worked as expected, but after starting the car, I noticed a strange noise (which I captured on video). I’m considering two possible causes: The serpentine drive belt might need attention. The alternator might need replacing. Is there a way I can send you the video? I’ve searched online but haven’t found anything similar. For reference, the car is a 2016 Trail model with 120,000 miles on it. Thanks in advance for your help!

@VikingsGarage also a couple things.... 1. I was just reading that toyota does not sell just the tensioner pulley alone. And 2.
