Lynn and I and our grand daughters enjoyed a stay at a wonderful place at the top of the hill in Ajijic. Retired life in Ajijic, Mexico on Lake Chapala. RV Life. Projects in the mountains of central Mexico, our USA travels in a 40' Monaco motor home, or whatever else is on my mind today. :)

This beautiful B&B was a labor of Love that belonged to a friend of mine. Hated to see it sell in the Fall of 2017, but California was calling her Home. All the out buildings except for the Yoga studio were her vision during her ownership. Glad to see the name didn't change, it's named after her precious Father. I hope the Villa keeps bringing Joy & Tranquility for years to come..

We stayed in that hotel last year in our trip to Ajijic and we love it so much that we decided to stay an extra night (Management gave us a special price), we were in the suite from min 2:50, the breakfast area has one of the best views in town, and food was delicious. If you are healthy to walk and love the views this is a place to stay, I 100% recommend it.

My grandpa is from Guadalajara and when I was a kid we used to go to chapala, ajijic and to the other side of the lake where my auntie had a little ranch. I visted several houses of wealthy gadalajarans in ajijic...all of them made of brick and stone. Most of them with swimming pool and some of them with horses..so I always had a good time

Question: I learned Spanish in school then at age 19 went there for only about 3 months and did nothing but go to the University in Xalapa, and listen and speak Spanish all day and every day. I refused to speak English to anyone, because I figured that was the reason I was there; I became almost completely fluent. Now almost 40 years later I have forgot allot but it might take me 2-3 months to get completely fluent again. It is kinda is like riding a bike. I actually prefer the Spanish language over English. I have to think in Spanish just because it makes it much easier. It is easy for me to get used to the Mexican culture also because I prefer it. I had been back for a few short visits since then and literally cried on my way back to the US. Sorry, this is long but I would love to move back there, I have nothing to hold me here. I would probably have about 800.00 usd per month to live. One of my short trips was to GDL and was talking to people there and they told me that it doesn't get hot there in the summer or very little. I live now in Tampa, FL and what a soulless, characterless place and it is a steam bath every day. I get SSI now and just wonder if there is a way to just leave this "sh#thole"? Thanks JC.

Wowsers! Now that is what I call stunning! The foliage and landscaping are exquisite (I seldom ever find opportunities to use that word) and the rooms appear to be a mix of serene comfort with some real opulence thrown in. Frankly, while the luxury touches are nice, I would pay good money to stay there based simply on the greenery, the view and most of all the "quiet"! I have seen so many videos about Mexico and the one thing I would have to say is missing from 95% of them is peace and quiet. It was so pleasant to watch you stroll through the place and especially outside. The chirping of the birds sounded so danged pleasant and it was followed by that fantastic view of the lake and mountains just beyond the pool! It is certainly a bit removed from the village and the lake but I think that is a good part of the attraction. Even the food looked pretty darn tasty. I shall have to put that place on my list for a visit, that's for sure. Thanks for the very nice video, Jerry. You provided us a brief but wonderful respite from our busy day. Kudos! BTW, does it have Internet access should you need it?

Amazing place Jerry! I spoke a few minutes ago with Tina, who is part of the management team there, and asked her if she knew something about the original owners of that magnificent place. She said it was first built by an american couple that started construction in the mid 1950´s and was completed in 1973. Decades later it was purchased by a Mexican family (not sure if they were from Guadalajara, she does have a picture of them) who, after many years of having it as their vacation/weekend place, sold it. It was on the market for 4 years, and, a year and a half ago was purchased by the current owners and converted it into Villa del Angel. Next time I´m in Ajijic, Jerry, I will make sure I visit it in addition to that "panaderia" you pointed out. Thanks, great informative/revealing video.
