Anyone has an idea? Thanks a lot! Edit: Solution: Get away from the station while you do this. Even though the Zombie seems to try to attack the villager, he was focused on me since I was in front. Tested this in 1.15 and it seems like one simple improvement can be made to a trading hall cell: place a slab on top of the job block. This doesn't prevent the villager from working on it, but prevents him from pathfinding to other villagers' blocks (which could mess up restocking). This must be done before placing the villager in their cell.

Correct, ALWAYS make sure that a trapped villager never has two blocks of air. And DO NOT USE TRAPDOORS -- those count as air. Keep them properly trapped or else you will get more CPU time wasted on pathfinding, which will cause extra lag and all sorts of unexpected behavior on the villagers AND other mobs in the area.

Sadly entity cramming is a thing, and this causes the villagers to drop down to 1 hp which is quite a risk if you have a good villager. Mumbo experienced this as well as seen in his video. I've modified the holding cell by placing a heavy weighted pleasure plate in there. When the signal hits 3 (21 villagers on the plate) it will send out a minecart. The rails also get changed in direction for a bit and the villager is sent into lava with the same sort of system you used in your video. The minecart is also collected and put back into the system.
@Lohkey2 жыл бұрын
Edit, to the people asking if this works in 1.18, it works in 1.19.1, so yes, it works in 1.18. Nothing changed about zombies or villagers in any update recently, so all mechanics from 1.14/1.15 still directly apply. Please ignore the paragraph below unless you're having problems with your zombies. In which case read the paragraph, and my replied comment. :) Hey Logical, I know this is a really old video, and doubt you'll see this, but it's been my go-to trader hall ever since you released it. Haven't played since release of 1.16, and upon building the first part of this on a new server, am encountering an issue I don't remember from before. It appears the zombie I've trapped next to the villagers is doing some really weird pathfinding, and often not caring about a villager that's actively within his reach. I understand that zombies can track villagers through blocks, but I would think their pathfinding would at least allow them to realize there's something within their attacking range that they *actually can path to.* I end up with a zombie at the far end of its hallway trying to go around a corner and attack the villagers there, ignoring the villagers that are lowered and in line with it...
@Lohkey2 жыл бұрын
Am an idiot, but leaving the comment in case another needs it. If you get the attention of the zombie yourself (they will always prioritize player over vill) and then run away from the zombie (preferably in line with the guy you want infected) the zombie will lose aggro on you and pathfind to the closest thing it can, the vill you dropped. Feel super smart. Spent all day figuring this out lmfao

Very cool design Logic. Especially the first part where you choose if you sent the villager to the trading hall or not is a good idea. I do have some concerns though: first of all when the villager hits the second tripwire it doesn't have a block above his head anymore. With my testing this will always eventually lead to him jumping. This will cause him to jump into the second tripwire, messing the circuit up. I've done some long testing and came to this stable design: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXO9oGSgj56bnck which also has a zombie converter build in. It has the perks that the villagers can't jump up. In my testing I've also found that activator rails are not 100% reliable and are still buggy. Therefor I use water streams in my design. Another point of thought is the baby villager sorter. This design isn't 100% reliable. In my testing the villagers would sometimes jump and you'd end up with baby villagers swimming up. Therefor I made this design: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2rKdGB5icp_qZY which is 100% reliable. Still love the how you took a very different approach to this, with things I didn't even think of some of the things.

One thing about this design that I overlooked for my base. If you place stalls adjacent to eachother on corners, this creates two problems; 1: The piston lever will lower both villagers on the corner to the zombie, infecting them both. 2: If you decide to go with the extra lamp, the redstone block on each side will power the corner lamp. Make sure two corner stalls don't share the same corner block to avoid this. I haven't completed it yet, but so far, this looks incredible. Well done.

Love the design, but make sure, if you do build this in survival, extend the piston that activates the activator rail in each module to the side of the rail instead of on the top like shown here. Thanks so much for this design. Ever since learning about it, it's basically been the only thing I use for my villager trading halls. I actually worked out a small improvement to it to make it more compact as well! You can move the piston to where the sea lantern is and put a piece of glass with redstone on it behind the top observer to make it shorter and take fewer materials per module. Currently building a new hall in my most recent world and that's the design that has saved me in a cramped building situation.
@whateverguy92044 жыл бұрын
Incredible tutorial. I love it. As a tip, if you don't have Name Tags, you can not name the Villagers and wait for them to heal before leaving so they don't despawn. For the zombie, you can, while finding zombies, drop some item at them, Zombies have a 50/50 chance of being able to pick up stuff, and if they have your stuff, they won't despawn
@josephwright87525 жыл бұрын
I've been testing this system since upload. On my server, unfortunately the difficulty is not on hard, so dropping down villagers for infection is not viable(the villager can outright die). To remedy this, I've moved the zombie in a one block behind the minecart in the job selection room. The zombie sits in a space separated by a trapdoor, which means that you can choose their trades after they've been cured. Great tutorial for an automated system of getting these broken villager trades!

Great design, but I would't reccomend zombifying the villagers in the way you showed on the video. The holding chamber to try and get good trades is practically pointless, as the holding chambers in the trading hall already server this purpose; you should send villagers directly into the trading hall and zombify them regardless of their trades, after they're cured they'll still randomly change their trade as long as you havent traded with them; then you lock it in by trading with them. This prevents you from potentially losing valuable villagers during the zombification process.

@Dubble Likes Bubbles Naming them is just a safeguard in case you want to walk away while they are a zombie. If you don't have any name tags, you can just wait next to them while they are being cured so they don't despawn. Once they are human again, the name tags aren't necessary.

Finally got around to building this on my server, along with Impulse/Logical/Work's villager breeder Some little tips and tricks that I ran into across the way; BREEDER TIPS 1: If you are looking for a particular style of villager, you must build your breeder in that biome. Occasionally, villagers from different biomes in a new biome will produce villagers of their starting biome, but most of the time, it's villagers in the biome that they are currently residing in. 2: MAKE SURE THE PILLOWS OF YOUR BEDS ARE IN THE CORNERS OF THE BREEDING AREA. TRADING HALL TIPS 1: If you can't afford to make a drop in your build before the job selector due to space constraints, a piston with a rail ontop of it works just as well. However, the rail must be directly ontop of the piston, otherwise, it will break. If you build it properly, you can power your piston and your powered rail with one button. 2: BE SURE TO REMEMBER THAT YOUR VILLAGER ON THE ACTIVATOR RAIL WILL ALWAYS BE EJECTED FROM THE RIGHT SIDE. 3: Patch any holes between your job selector and your trading hall. I had the longest bit of trouble where the villagers in my job selector were taking jobs from my trading hall and I couldn't figure out why. Eventually I came to the conclusion that it was a hole in my rail system that led to my trading hall. 4: Only keep one cart in circulation throughout your entire system. That way, if you do multiple button presses on accident, you aren't spammed with multiple villagers. 5: Build a mail room next to your trading hall that carries goods from all your farms throughout your compound/base to your trading hall. This will save you a ton of time carrying stacks of items from your farms to your trading hall.

Fixed it put topslab on the 3 faces of each redstone block that are not the direction you want him to go. I think its a server thing. Not needed in solo imo. Also sometime the redstone block come back in place. Maybe its due to server lagg. Fixed it with a repeater instead of one of the restons dust powered by the upper observer. Still break from time to time but its much better since then.

In the room where you decide on a profession, you can place a slab or a trapdoor right above where you'd place the profession block in order to cycle through a villager's trades. Villagers have long heads and can't pass through a two tall space when so much as a trapdoor is placed on the top side of the second block

For anyone who's having trouble with villagers dying before dropping in front of the lectern, put the redstone block directly infront of the activator rail, and the piston one block forward and one block lower to match with a block ontop and a repeater going into it. I've been pulling my hair out all day trying to figure out why it stopped working and it kept killing the villagers I sent through the system. Turns out it was the redstone block suffocating the villagers before they get kicked out. Probably has something to do with my villager loader system injuring them from time to time, but there is no way in hell I'm going to change that. All I need to do is change 3 blocks this way, and the loader system has been beautified and would require probably a day of work to fix. Also, the workstation bug a-la-mumbo and iskall's videos seem to be solved as well.

The reason they are dying is most likely due to entity cramming taking place wherever you are storing your villagers before sending them to their holding cells. Just make sure you don't have too many villagers crowding together in the same spot at any given time, and you will not have to change the design.

This thing is awesome, but in particular, I love the villager-dispenser module. I use one at the end of every breeder I build and when it comes time to populate my iron farm it saves me a lot of time and frustration that would otherwise be spent trying to force the Hurr Hurrs into water columns.

Hi dude! I'm very thankful for the tutorial. It's very very useful to have all the parts involved explained! I was building it it my survival and noticed that there's an easier way to give a job to the villager, being also easy to get it on its spot. Let me explain: if you place a trapdoor in front of them before they are sent to their spot, they can't reach any block outside of that 1x1 so their pathfinding doesn't work. The other workstations are invisible to him... so it's not necessary anymore to have another separate chamber to choose their work there, do the sticky piston stuff, etc. Also, you can remove and place the workstation as many time you want because they won't move anyway, even without a workstation, since their hitbox touches the trapdoor. Once the job and the trades are OK, you can remove the trapdoor, because they will be trapped with their own workstation, and without the trapdoor you can see their head better

For other people having the issue where your villager or you are getting ejected from the minecart on the powered rail and not where the observer or string are, I have a solution. Some people have mentioned changing out levers for redstone blocks and changing out half slabs for full. None of that worked for me. What did work was using the debug stick to change the orientation of the string to the right of the activator rail to west. You need to be in creative mode to do that and use the command ( /give @s minecraft:debug_stick ) then hit the string till it "changes orientation". Visually some of the string change to reflect that and some did not. This worked for me 100% of the time without changing anything else from this build. I know you need creative mode for this fix but i think its worth noting that the string orientation seems to be part of the issue. I'll let other smarter Minecraft players use that information how they will.

all i did to fix it was just make another railway across from it and the villagers would go in from the otherside of where youre trying to get them in and it worked without changing anything from the build
@pineapplewafers5 жыл бұрын
Great tut, I will be building this eventually, but instead of the pressure plate and the piston, couldn't you just use a bottom half slab on the floor, and a top half slab two blocks up? This would leave a 2 block tall gap for the player to get in and out, but the villager (and other mobs) would see it as only a one block space and not be able to pathfind out to other stations... and you wouldn't be stuck standing on one space to keep the door shut.

ATTENTION: To everyone whose villagers eject onto the tracks, I just figured out the problem. The platform inside the holding cell gets stuck in the "in" position if you let the villager escape once they are captured. Reset this by breaking the slab underneath the string and replacing it so that it is in the "out" position. The villager will not eject into the cell if there is not a platform for it to eject onto. Just tested it, this works for 1.16. - Will beeson

To anyone coming down here wondering how to fix the villager popping out on the rail in between the redstone blocks It could be that the block the villager has to land on is out of wack, and you have to replace it. Check the box the villager has to eject into and make sure they have a block to land on. Your cell should look like this with the piston not connected to the slab : imgur.com/YtQC1M2

Activator rails only eject entities to the right. If there isn't a block to the right of the activator rail, it'll eject them onto the rail. You can actually remedy this by putting glass blocks above the rails.
