As I'm on the verge of purchasing the Canon M50 Mark II, I've really been enjoying your reviews and was specifically interested in this review of the Viltrox AF 23mm f/1.4 M. My question to you is, how does it rate against the Canon EF-M 22mm? With the Viltrox's larger maximum aperture, does it make it the winner or does the Canon beat it in other categories? I'd very much appreciate your opinion. Thanks in advance!

Yes the Viltrox has a wider aperture at 1.4 giving you more bokeh but you also get some chromatic aberrations with it. I have not tested or used the Canon 22mm lens but from what I have seen online it looks like a nice lens and it's very small and compact unlike this Viltrox which is larger in size.

Had to return mine..the vignetting at 1.4 was super bad..plus it just looked super ugly with that cheesy silver color on a black camera..

Did you update the lens firmware? Viltrox is putting out a lot of updates lately. Yeah wish it was black, but it doesn’t bother me.
