Dear Mr Gill: I just saw your first segment on Burns' documentary. I hope someone who knows you sees this and let's you know what a wonderful human I (for one) thinks you are. When, in the interview you said you "want to be touched by the music"(paraphrase)...I sat up cause that's just like me....except it's often YOUR music and few others that do that to me. This song (Adrienna) was first...listening, every time, makes tears run down the face of this old,cold,hard man.....thank you. When I saw you sing at Mr Jones' commemoration, when your feelings overcame you...and the audience stood up, while my own feelings well up for you,...is probably, to me, the best example of how the instinctual human trait of being a social-animal is proved: That audience felt your pain and instinctually rose up to support you...the world is lucky to have experienced that positive human moment. Seeing and hearing what you can do to express feelings through words (that's the trick) (very few can do)...has given my life some of its most beautiful, appreciative moments. Thank you sir.

I learned how this song came about yesterday. This is not a love song but about a 12 year old girl named Adriana who was killed by a drive by in Nashville. Vince wrote this song for her parents would be feeling about their daughter. He also earned a Grammy for the best male vocal.
