Archangel-- I think Snoke is dead. The only way I could see him coming back is as a "Force ghost". My sister thinks Snoke was lying about the connection, I am not sure. I have not read the TFA novel but people who have say that Kylo feels some kind of connection with Rey in that interrogation scene...idk I think they are just two very powerful Force users who have that ability. I am not enough of a Star Wars expert to have an opinion on Rey's background. Rian Johnson stated that when Kylo tells Rey who her parents are he isn't lying or he didn't intend for him to be lying in that moment. Then I think he walked that comment back, stating that it was now in the hands of J.J. Perhaps, Kylo wasn't lying, maybe Rey was raised with the junk traders because she was taken from her parents? Who knows? If Rey does have a "special" backgound, I could more easily see her being a Kenobi (which would be interesting) than a Skywalker. I just can't believe they are going to rehash the brother/sister thing or that they are cousins. I wish they would just leave her an ordinary person because I like the message that the Force can be strong in anyone. At least, I thought that's what the message was when the little stable boy Force swept the broom into his hand at the end of TLJ. Sorry I rambled on. Didn't mean to.

I won't deny that you make some good points, but I'm saying them both having scenes in the rain isn't one of them. It's just one of a LOT of arguments that are more like playing The 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon than actual foreshadowing. For example, you say Obi was good at force persuade because of other people have trouble with it, but Luke was able to force persuade Jabba's assistant with no difficulty and you only showed Obi-Wan using it on underlings. When you omit all the other cases your points would apply to just to make it seem like Rey is a Kenobi it hurts your argument more than just not using those cases in the first place.

Even if Rey is not a Kenobi you are definitely correct about the force connection between Kylo and Rey in the visions, I just feel it weakens your argument to add shaky points. In Empire Strikes Back Luke did fairly well against Vader, who was an expert at dueling at this point, with minimal training. Rey who is obviously gifted, calm and level-headed took advantage of Kylo's injury and beat him. Like if you shot the most gifted fencer in the world in the stomach and then fenced him you'd probably have a decent shot at winning with little skill.

I seriously doubt that. There is no indication that Obi Wan's ability to perform a jedi mind trick was exclusive to him. There is also no evidence that Obi Wan had a sexual relationship with anyone, much less have a child or grandchild. As far as I remember Obi Wan was adamant about not having a intimate relationship as a Jedi as evidenced by him advising Anankin not to fool around with Padme.

jake nguyen on that point obi wan is done too, let the guy go. He's only a supporting character around the skywalkers and palpatine. The first two trilogies are all about them at the end of the day, would be nice to see a role reversal - a palp good guy and a sky bad guy. Also think of the dynamic Luke training a palp... the conflict and danger... like him but not. I think I'd be quite good. but probably right with obi *yawn* talk about obvious and boring. Also the power Ray shows us is very different to other budding force users force power... She seems to have an innate power over the mind. Something Palp was very good at, getting in people's heads and baiting them... say just like the Ray / Kylo interrogation scene where she reads his mind and baits him by saying he'll never be as strong as Vader... Actually they can't. It takes years of study in the Living Force before a Jedi can do so. Qui-Gon Jinn was the first Jedi we know of who began studying it, but died before he was able to complete his training, so he is only able to speak through the force. Obi-Wan spent the 20 years after Episode 3 studying it, so he could manifest, as could Yoda. We aren't really sure how Vader is able to manifest, since the Sith are unable to use the living force. So really, including Vader, we only know of 4 people who are able to use the living force.

I agree with mostly everything here except the Sabine-Satine thing. Sabine is in her 20s in Rebels, which takes place only a few years after the end of the Clone Wars, which only lasted 3 years. If Obi-Wan and Satine did get together between when they met and when Satine died they would only have within 3 years to birth a child, and considering how much time passes between the start of the Clone Wars and Rebels, sorry Vincent but Sabine is too damn old.

I watched an interview with him, he says that he had to say ''Rey, these are your first steps'' which they played during Rey's vision. Is it wrong that I feel that Anakin's Saber has more of a connection with Obi Wan than Anakin himself ? Anakin seems not very fond of it during the prequels. Think about it. Obi wan retrieved Anakin's saber in Episode 2 when it fell, and told him "This light saber is your life" Afterwards after The battle in Mustafar Obi Wan takes Anakin's saber for safekeeping for the following years of his exile. Which is really long time until finally giving it to Luke.. Obi wan has had that saber for a longer and more emotional time than any of the 2 Skywalkers. And Rey if she's a kenobi would come full circle in retrieving Skywalkers Saber and finally giving it to Luke just like Obi wan once did to him and his father before him! Edit: Might I also add that during the Force vision in episode 7 we don't have really any trace of Anakin during that vision except for Obi wan who calls out for her and Says "these are your first steps" which basically makes my suspicions even higher.

A major battle between Empire and Rebellion was either fought above Jakku or it truly is a scrap metal yard for the Galaxy. There has got to be a reason so many Craft are rusting in the sand there and given that there are rebel craft as well it would seem a major battle is the more likely. Tattooine had no strategic value, was Vaders homeworld so he knew it wasn't a threat to the empire ans it was already governed by the Empire and had a resident Empire population that was only boosted when Vader wanted to find the droids. Any semblance to Tattooine is just sand in the wind.

Storywise... it would be very nice if she was Kenobi, it sounds nice as you explained it in the part about tightening the bond between Kenobis and Skywalkers. You included some interviews to support your hypothesis. However, there was a game (I think even Lego game) about TFA where Kylo Ren meets Rey and one of his taunty line ends with "cousin". Overall, I dont want to sound like you are right or you are wrong, I just wanted to give you feedback on how your arguments seem. You presented good arguments like the mind trick. And some really bad ones which make you look like a conspiracy theorist (Obi Wan screamed NO! when Qui Gon died.... So did Luke when Obi Wan was killed by Vader on the Death Star). Also, the "fighting in coridors" is a bit "eh".)

Also, the accent... yea. For casual moviegoers, this seem like a sign. For nit picking people... if you think about how accents really develop, it is based on the people you surround yourself with. She was alone for most of her life as far as we know. Like, example from my life. In about 5th grade, I kept pronouncing the end of the word "mountain" the same way as word "maintain". Years. Since noone kept saying it that way, I somewhat picked up on that and now, I talk in an american accent, simply because I watched popular sitcoms like Friends or HIMYM without subtitles and it influenced the way I pronounce words.

None of those things are passed down via genetics.... And accents have nothing to do with who you surround yourself with... wtf? Accents are formed due to climate effects on the vocal cords, along with the structure of language.

+14Schofield While they do have to do with the climate effects on vocal cords, accents are still learned. A year ago I had an American accent, now in a British school where everyone around me is British, my accent has changed into a hybrid one (part American and part British). However, the structure of the language is minor, look at the difference between an American, Scottish, British, and Australian guy talking English. They are all the same language with the same structure, but the accent is very different. Also, while the skill itself and the knowledge is not passed through genetics, natural ability might be. Just like some people are naturally better at music and some are naturally better at rolling their tongue (everyone can do this, it is just hard for some, if you devote 30 minutes a day for a week trying, you will figure it out, just like i did) this applies here.
