56:25 As a long time Cities player, I think the biggest thing human CoS needs right now is a new greatsword equivalent. I really feel the lack of a human foot hammer in the army, elves and dwarves can fill the role decently well but can't benefit from a lot of the buffs the new human units give out.

Happy Holidays, Vince & Tom! It would be nice to see Organized Play for Narrative, with an emphasis on slow-grow/painting. Also, /agree on longer edition lifecycles--4E feels very choppy compared to late 3E. New CoS players are desperate to make 'Humanity Fuck Yeah!' work on its' own, but I agree that with the pillow-fisting on Cavaliers... the only hammer is the (TOW) griffon kit, which... who knows if it survives as a warscroll, when the CoS index [likely] gets copy-pasted to print & paywall. Flagellants would have to be... 20/150-160 to get a good look from me. Steelhelms... 20/170.

I'd like to see Chaos Dwarves in Aos. But NOT how they were/are in Warhammer Fantasy / Old World / Blood Bowl. More like their 2010ish Forge World version looked, with a strong focus on them being artificers of chaos machinery. Like a mix of Kharadron Overlords, Clan Skryre and 40k Daemon Engines. And they could have Bull Centaurs, but those would not be living beings, but mechanical bull bodies that are piloted by a Chaos Dwarf warrior who sits where the bull's head would be. Thus creating the look of a centaur and being a clear throwback, while still being something new and in line with the new theme.

Ok here's my hot take idea.....Chaos dwarves, but they return as a Death faction army.....They are still technically Chaos but Hashut and his followers perished during the obliteration of the old world and have now returned as a Death god that is not under Nagash's rule. Picture something similar along the lines of undead Cyborgs style asthetic.....Dwarf Necrons.

I agree that they should have froze the battletome releases for a while and focused on honing the core game experience. it would have been interesting if they expanded the game more, like released the PTG book and things like that before the battletomes so that players had time to digest the game and really explore what it all has to offer. releasing the battletomes at this rate has been demoralizing because of how little they compellingly impact their armies and the sheer cost of them vs the perceived change/update from the free indices. i was hoping the battletomes would bring meat back to their factions but so far it's been saltless mashed potatoes.

those new edition starter boxes are always a huge seller for them, I've been wondering if they even need a new edition for those things though. I can imagine a world with a 5 year edition, where 3 years in they kick off a big narrative event with a box just as impressive as the start of edition boxes, with the same amount of marketing etc. People aren't just buying those things because they come with a rulebook.

I have been playing human-focused Cities more or less exclusively since 4th dropped. My advice for people to run the faction like that would be: - The biggest strengths of Cities is that all your units are comparatively cheap and resilient. - Unit warscrolls don't look amazing, but get a lot better with buffs. Don't be afraid to go high drops, especially after the last update. - Cavliers and Fusiliers are the bread and butter units. Forget Steelhelms. Maybe 10 for a screen if you have points to spare. - IMO, going all in on shooting is not the best build. I have had most success with combined arms. - The Foot-Marshal and Command Corps combo is good. Fairly durable and does some work everytime I bring them. Read the Relic Envoy ability again, it is better than you think: It allows any hero to give orders to the unit it is attached to from anywhere on the board. - Don't sleep on the Hurricanum-Battlemage. It is among the best support units for Cavaliers. - You can run Zenestra for her 5+ ward prayer, but it is more optimal to run units that get an always-on 5+ ward in some other way. She's kind of a tax unit. - Callis and Toll can get a 6" deep strike in Cities through the movement order and are a good pick. - You can run humans only, but your life will be a lot easier if you include 20 Hammerers and a Runelord.

It was very confusing for me as a kid when I watched an American Christmas movie and the kids in that movie got their presents in the morning on 25th. Very good points regarding the release of armybooks and the lifecycle of editions. I really wish they would go (back) to 4 year cycles. And wait a bit with the army books.

First half of the year for me was spent building up an army under the assumtion that 4ed wouldn't be an index edition, and the second half was being bummed out that it was. Finished 188 models, pile is bigger than it was at the beginning of the year, more than likely due to the aforementioned being bummed out

Couldn't agree more with ditching three year editions. Like, 3rd edition was essentialy just 2nd edition with heroic/ monstrous actions and jank command auras bolted on because IDK it's been three years, I guess.

Merry Christmas! Elemental destruction army would be so cool. Such great modelling opportunity but I feel GW wouldnt do it due to the massive 3rd party models available in elemental. Which would be a shame. Generally GW could push abit harder into different models types.

I'm happy this year that I've got over 100 minis painted. I had to downgrade my process but getting minis on the table and the backlog down was primary goal. This has succeeded as it's opened up gaming options: enough Skaven to be flexible with my lists, 2 Spearheads, Mordheim warband and terrain and a couple of Kill Teams. I can actually play these games now.
