Seeing the Chat-O’-Lantern has me wondering, how well would a horror game where chat controls the monster turn out? On one hand, their unpredictability and likely “WE ARE LEGION” design would make them pretty dang freaky, but on the other hand the horror kinda dissipates once you realize this thing is puppeteered by bored randos online. Horror’s about the unknown and all that. I still kinda feel like it could work with some tweaking.

Reminds me of that one game called... ReStreamed? Both Vinny and Joel has tried it if memory serves. The gist of it is that the game has an in-game Twitch chat which does the usual backseating and complaining but also reacts to stuff you do in-game, and then it first starts getting meta and then it starts getting creepy, until your text-to-speech mascot becomes a monster and hunts you down.
