My dad loves a baked apple dessert, I'll have to make this for him! Thanks for sharing!❤

This is just like the campfire apples we did at camp as a kid. Same ingredients, wrap in foil and throw around the fire. YUMMY!

I love that you did a vintage recipe. I'm gonna have to go watch more. And I'm inspired to look more closely at the cookbooks next time I thrift. :)

I like to halve the apple and bake them that way so I get more filling and crumble to apple bite. So good!! ❤️ 🍎

Ooo that’s a good idea!

Craisins. That would be a great sub for raisins. Tart, similar texture/plumping. Brighter color and flavor. Not very 1940s, but I've done it. YUM!

Omg I totally just bought a huge Sams Club bag of Craisins! I absolutely prefer them to raisins, what a great idea!

Drizzle the juice syrup over the top of the whipped cream. :) Soak the raisins in bourbon to plump. :)

Hey Claire long time since I've commented. Baked apples are great. My mom has a microwave cookbook somewhere that had a recipe for similar.. however.. it's simpler, but just as good. Just the cored apple with the cinnamon, sugar, and butter diced and sprinkled in the center of a raisin stuffed apple (though not for my brother he is not a raisin fan.) No flour as not a crumble. Sincerely don't think you would miss that aspect of it.. and cooks in what...maybe five minutes? I'd imagine you could also save energy if you still want to bake them off by doing them in the air fryer sitting in a small Pyrex. Just eyeball the cinnamon, sugar, and butter.

I’ve got to make sure you get your $4 back! Have a comment!❤ This looks delicious. I’ve gotten the cosmic crisp apples, and I thought they were great. I think the reason for peeling the top of the apple is to let some of the crumble mixture and basting liquid soak in. But you keep the rest of the peel on to prevent the apple from falling apart.

Looks Delish! So . . . would you add more cinnamon next time? How bout serving them warm in a small dessert bowl topped with vanilla ice cream . . . then drizzled with the glaze ? ? ? Can't wait to give it a try. Thanks !

I think I would add more cinnamon next time, and maybe like a teaspoon of vanilla in with the water and juice! And 10/10 vanilla ice cream would be the best way to enjoy this!!!
