When I was a kid, I remember Mom bought me a blue time traveler, and if I recall correctly, he had a blue sarcophagus. That was the only new one I ever owned. I had a couple more from sales, but they were always missing hands or feet. I'd love to have one again.

Micronauts Time Traveler was the first action figure I can recall getting. I believe mine was orange. There's some heavy nostalgia there for me. You may have inspired me to track one down to restore.

@@toypolloi Maybe you could pour it into a dropper bottle like those used by Vallejo. They are easy to pick up online or you might have an old, empty one that could be cleaned and reused.

The T bar looks like it has suffered from 'ZAMAK Rot', also known as 'Zinc Pest'. Never had any T bars suffer from it, but my original 1970's 'Acroyear' figure, which is mostly diecast, is crumbling away, because of it. If I were to accidentally drop him on the floor, he'd shatter like glass.

I love Time Traveler, and I have one of each color. My brother used to tell me that the heads look like Lee Majors from the Six Million Dollar Man! lol. I guess he kind of does a bit at that. I wish there was a way to tighten the knee joints on the figures, but I haven't really come up with a good solution other than that Kiki Fix Loose Joints compound that was being sold on Amazon a few years ago. Basically it's a milk or cream based compound that hardens between the joints to create some friction back into those areas, but that is only a temporary and not an ideal solution. Not really sure that anything can be done to fix those joints. Once the plastic near the metal posts get worn down, you're kind of stuck with a floppy leg.

Only ever had one Micronaut figure when I was a kid - made him into an Ace Frehley (Kiss guitarist) figure when I was 14..... Regarding the t bar, you might consider those metal ball bearings with the holes through them....?

I've been obsessing over ミクロマン and Micronauts recently and I'm honestly wondering if you've ever considered restoring an old junker Galactic Defender or Space Glider, since the paint chips off quite a bit on those and, since they're riveted together, O-ring changes are nigh impossible. I think it'd be a decently interesting challenge.

What I do to keep from wasting Mirror is just paint from the lid. If you need more screw it back on and shake again and it will put enough back in the lid to go again.

👍👍👍 Good to see old friends. Really difficult to not joke about the Microman t-bar compared to say, a GI Joe Gung-Ho or Roadblock. Have you come across the need and suitable replacement for the rubber tubes? It was posted a while back about using Palisades parts for that.
@toypolloi8 ай бұрын
Thanks. I've not had to replace the rubber as I always seem to have spares. But it looks like a standard size rubber tube. I'm sure it would be easy to find something similar.
@KeithOutsider8 ай бұрын
I use clear tubing for aquariums to replace these - just cut a bit out for that neck/ball. Also I cut slices off a bigger piece of clear tubing to replace O-rings in the transparent Micronauts. Gives them a better overall see-thru look! @@toypolloi

Mr. Polloi, hello, I've only just found your channel but I am a big fan of your work. I have a ton of toys I recently retrieved from my parents at they are cleaning house as of late and have been working to sort, organize, and fix as best I can any that are not functioning. I have been working a line of toys called "Air Raiders" of which you are likely familiar but they were a lesser known line so perhaps not. They have air pumps and are designed to fire missiles or do other minor movements with the attached air pumps. It is very common the air pumps no longer work (as I recall, they did not ever work tremendously well in the first place). I was wondering if you had ever repaired any Air Raider toys and had any ideas on how to repair or strengthen the air pump mechanisms within the toys? I have searched google for any ideas but have not come across anyone who has solved this and posted about it as of yet. Thank you much for the time to read this and any help you may be able to provide.
@toypolloi8 ай бұрын
Hi, and welcome. I do know of the air raiders line but have never actually seen one to work on. If I ever find some I will definitely cover them on the channel as they sound and interesting problem. Cheers

I've got a toy repair question- do you have any experience with using rubber erasers to remove marks from toys (including marks over paint itself)? Like black marks from hitting other figures and stuff.
@toypolloi8 ай бұрын
Hi, I either use lighter fluid or magic eraser to remove scuffs. I find lighter fluid is gentler. Magic eraser can be abrasive and damage factory paint.
