Love the new thank you notices to your Patreons and channel members at the beginning! The previous version in the middle with the loud music was such an odd jolt. I hope this new format stays! So cool that you keep tweaking as you grow your channel. Well done!

Thanks, still working on the ideal solution but I agree this is less jarring!👍

Amazing video Jules. I'm with you on the Doc Savage books. Takes me back to middle school and high school when a friend and i would trade out copys. Never ever thought about saving them. Truly unreal what some of these books are going for isn't it ? I can't afford them but I can enjoy others collections thanks to your excellent work. Your getting better all the time Jules. And I ain't blowing smoke. As Joe Friday used to say. " Just the facts " God bless my friend.

Thanks Alvin, really pleased you enjoyed this one. If I could find, and afford, a lot like that pictured, I'd buy them in a heart beat. Scarce in nice condition over here.👍

@@JulesBurt Yeah, must be nice to lay down hundreds of dollars for a book and not have to worry about the cost. Wish I had the ability to collect some first editions like 1984, etc. But you know what something like that would run. And in excellent condition too of course. No shabby firsts around here. 😂 Oh well, we can dream I guess. I'm happy and that's what matters. Later my friend. 😃

Cheers Alvin, we must all collect within our means. If I was a millionaire, I'd buy lots of key first editions. Maybe I'll win the lottery?!

That second set of Bonds with the CR and original Moonraker.....Ive seen that CR on ebay a few times before on its own. I recognise the scribbled out 2nd printing line (someone was trying to claim it was a 1st printing).

Lol, crazy! Can't imagine anyone falling for that!

As an overseas collector i used to buy off various UK sites but as postage has crept up and my domestic postal service charges two taxea on non EU books i ve had to gracefully back away from purchases of late. It s still great to come across the odd find in the occasional 'used books' outlet, although it s rare. Thanks for the videos, Jules, they re always entertaining and informative.

Thanks Philip, appreciate that. Yes, postage is becoming a bigger factor as time goes on. Bigger books are becoming a liability to buy online these days!

Great video and great information, especially on the scarce UK Paperbacks in the US that are hard to come by. Amazing prices on what some of this stuff is going for! You just don’t see a lot of these books as you used to.

Thanks Gary. You know you must be sitting on a fortune! You're probably like me though, not really caring for the value as books are in your blood👍

I'm quite surprised, that after 50 odd years of jumble sales, charity shops and 2nd hand bookshops, that I've no idea the Casca books existed!

Only the first three books got published in the UK and these are quite scarce nowadays. I read these at the time and got them through import shops back in the day. An amazing series, dedicated video right here...kzbin.info/www/bejne/amPWop2PbdR7aZo

Great video, fascinating stuff, and some truly amazing - and often outrageous - prices! So, four copies of No.29 and No.30 of The Pan Book Of Horror Stories turned up over the last couple of months on eBay. This doesn't indicate scarcity to me, I suspect these prices will flush a few more copies out, and wonder whether they will, in turn, attract such high bids. A friend also found 28, 29 and 30 priced cheaply at a secondhand bookshop recently, and which further convinces me that these titles can still be located in the wild, and also that some dealers don't think they're that uncommon or valuable and price them accordingly. And considering that my almost certainly unread copy was bought from Charing Cross Road's Any Amount Of Books for £2 pre-Lockdown, I believe this to be the case and also believe that I got a far better deal than those eBay buyers! Please keep these videos coming, Jules, as it's interesting and enlightening to see what some books are selling for these days.

Thanks David, I agree, they are definitely a bit overpriced but high grade copies seem scarce. My own ones are hardly sparkling, that's why I've been looking online. I also have 27 and 28 as reprints editions so the print runs couldn't have been that small. I love compiling these so expect another in a couple of months🙂

Doc Savage . Wow. Worth every trilling sound . I am always fan of the pulp heroes. The Gor books..? Sorry i pass . I suffered too many looks of disapproval in my very early days of reading Norman. Lol x 2 . Thanks a bunch my friend .

Thanks Sylvan! The early For books are ok but they get a bit sillier as the series goes on, lol🙂

Great channel and episode. I’m looking for a short story horror collection from the 1980s, may not be Pan but has an illustration of a swan, snake and ornate mantelclock on the cover. Do you or any viewers know what I may be referring to?

It doesn't ring a bell with me but there is a collector on twitter @nooseandgibbett who collects horror anthologies, maybe ask him.
