Vintage Police Car Parade in Ripon California (2008)

Here is the October 4th 2008 Ripon California Police Car Parade. Participants brought many vintage and current model cars for the show.

The lights and markings on the privately owned vintage emergency vehicles are either removed or covered when driven on the road or the vehicle is trailered to events. They are sometimes allowed to use the lights and sirens in sanctioned parades like this one.

Vintage police cars should have vintage lights of the same era. The car at 2:35 should not have grill LEDs. Great video, I love the classics.

Best sounding electronic siren can be heard at 2:59. It's a late 1960s Federal Director or Interceptor model with the deep low-pitched yelp.

There is a restored '69 CHP Polara that has been shown at this event in the past but the owner chose not to bring it this year due to the rain.

@dapeacock27: That's coming from a Federal Signal PA-20A Interceptor siren in the blue '75 Plymouth Fury. That sound was used by Hollywood for a loooong time..

Law enforcement has been using Mustangs since the early 80's. Not many departments use the current style though. Camaros were also widely used in the 90's up until 2002. CHP had I think 12 1979 Camaros. Hope that helps.
