I did same dresser with four other matching pieces. Beige and dusty blue then put a light grey glaze over it all to give it an antique look. Then I handpainted all the trim parts that were high lighted in gold with silver metallic paint. They tirned out beautiful. Just as yours is.

I Love it! You are very inspiring. My dining table I have is a darker oak look on it, and I am thinking of doing a light to medium grey driftwood look and a black base and chairs. I am 67 years old and I use to paint just my projects back in the day and this will be my first try on a table. One day soon hopefully.

I have that exact dresser (with the mounted full length mirror). I purchased it off of Facebook marketplace from a neighbor for $200. Definitely my best "used" furniture purchase. The color of mine is much lighter than yours though & the center pulls are different. Still haven't decided if I can bring myself to paint it because it's already so beautiful on its own. Loved watching you revamp a beauty.

Nice work, I appreciate all the sanding and willingness to try something new. Suggestion, don't wring out the sponge and you will get less bubbles. I put some product on a waxed paper plate and just dip.

Looks great, a departure from your usual finish of spray and glaze. I like the look and just stripped the exact 9-drawer dresser and have been overthinking my finish but since it will be in my office I am taking my time deciding. I believe I may go with the whitewash because it is so on-trend and I can always update later. Thanks :)
@davidjackson4762 Жыл бұрын
You do an such beautiful job taking something that is "brown" and dated by cleaning, sanding, filling in imperfections, priming, hand painting or spraying three coats of paint and then several finish coats. Lots of labor and the result is amazing. Then you spray the original pulls and add a little rub and buff... to me it takes away from all the work you have done.

So hilarious I got an entire set of this exact style when I was in elementary school. However, remember was disappointed because it was the white and gold painted style. Always wished furniture was wood instead of whiteish. And, here you are switching from wood to painted. Guess everyone has their own ideas of beauty.

I back tracked to this video from the pink version because I have had the nightstand that accompanies it since the 80's. It is a Montgomery Ward that belonged to my Father. It was repainted a glossy black in the 90's as it remains. The bottom drawer gets sticky sometimes and it could probably use another refinishing. I think it is a classic look and a testament to how things were made back then.
