Honestly, Beef should take the map file, host a server and invite Team Nancy Drew and Team Canada to play the TCG, would be so much fun man. I think Beef was originally gonna put a rulebook in each starter deck, but I guess that didn't end up happening. Makes sense cuz that would've been a lot of extra work. Plus, for the most part, there is always someone around who can clarify rules, either a gamemaster or an experienced player running their own game.

Rule question for Sheep Stare: Is the opposing hermit required to attack? Keralis was considering switching hermits on the first sheep stare, but didn’t. If he had changed and not attacked, he’d effectively negate sheep stare. Should a restriction on going afk be added to sheep stare? Again, huge congrats on all the hype for your great work!!

It might negate the move but it also prevents you from attacking, giving whoever used the move the advantage. Either they take a 50% chance to put themself in a worse position or they 100% put themself in a bad situation

My assumption is the effect would stay with the hermit until that hermit attacks next. Doesn't matter if they go afk they will still have the effect when they come back and will have to roll for sheep stare when they attack.

Keeping track that the effect is there might prove difficult, especially over many moves staying afk. There’s no place to indicate the effect is there, though maybe turning the hermit upside down like for rare bdubs Shreep could work…but then what do in this scenario if it’s against rare bdubs? 🤣 I don’t have strong feelings either way, but it’s a scenario that should be clarified. I’m sure it’s going to come up, given the current popularity of rare zed.

In these Lemon and Lime arenas, it's really hard for us viewers to keep track of the current score. Some manual redstone lamps with levers or something akin to that could really help with clarity from the viewer's perspective. Loving the TCG content though!

You should put some note blocks under the 'end turn' buttons in the practice arenas! Super simple change to let everyone know when you've ended your turn, which won't break the redstone.

Great game you made beef! love all the content from you and the other hermits. I have two small rule sugestions you might wanna think about. The first is that armour should only be able to block damage once per turn. Now it can block burn/poison, an attack and an effect card thats posibly three uses in the same turn. The second is that you should only be able to use 2 of the same rare cards and 1 of the same ultra rare card in your deck.

I think that instead of taking the prize cards out of each player's deck, perhaps they should each bring a separate bundle of cards they wish to have chosen from to gamble with. I feel this would really encourage the mechanic in the game, as it seems no one wants to risk losing a card from their deck, but perhaps they'd be willing to wager their other cards!

Hey! I've been watching your videos all season and I love being able to see people playing the card game!! One idea, I think it'd be really cool if a player only loses if the opposing player attacks when there are no hermits on the board. I think this would add more suspense on the last draw, whether or not they get a hermit. It could also allow them to play an item card with no hermits out as a last ditch effort

I’ve been thinking you should make an anvil card. It would do maybe 30 damage to the hermit directly under your active hermit and if it kills then it stops the opponent from getting that point. Might be strong but I think it would be a very interesting interaction

RAW do the effects of Sheep Stare go away if Zed hits a hermit who then swaps out? XB sheep stares and hit's his coin toss. Is it advantageous to swap hermits and not roll the 50/50 on hitting yourself?

I have a little suggestion! Maybe when the hermits understand and know how to play the game more, you could make some challenges where if completed or whoever completes firsts gets a certain amount of tokens. Examples: First to collect one of every Hermit (any type) First to win 5 official games Win an official game using redstone type hermits only Fun things like that! Even more of an incentive and a challenge to collect more cards and play games!

Hi Beef, for the type synergy board, you can just use the item cards instead of the actual items (e.g. miner item replacing the cobblestone). This will save you multiple elytras down the line

An overpowered strat would be have 1 rare hypno and the rest is his energy healing ect. They can't get three hermits out and you always have energy to spare on his move! Diamond armour and a couple gold apples and you win!

For tcg you should use a red stone lamp that indicates who’s turn it is with the button push so that it’s easier for hermits to follow if they pressed the button or not. It could also chime too

I think you should change sheep stare: first flip if head opp active hermit must attack. Second flip: if heads opp active hermit damages themselves. Just to clarify things and make sure people cant just change out their hermits to avoid the effect Effectively its the same card but without loopholes

XB, since he needed to draw another hermit, should have played the flint and steel to discard his hand and draw 3. Sure, he'd lose a lot of items, but his hermits in play had the items they needed, and dead cards in hand won't help anything. Edit: I commented this 2 turns before he drew his next hermit. So the flint and steel would have drawn a hermit, an item, and the poison by the looks of it.

Hey beef, card idea: Special move worth 2 pvp items and 1 wild: Does 60 damage. Every consecutive use of that move adds +10 damage until another move is played or the hermit is otherwise swapped or knocked out Would be a good counter to tanky cards for as long as that hermit can be kept alive

I think more sound needs to be added to the game. put bells around to ring when a hermit dies have a button for a sad sound to play. and in general add a lot more sound effects to have different triggers. and bells just lying around so people can ring bells to bring the hype in.

Hermitcraft TCG is such a great addition to hermitcraft. I love watching how hermits are having fun playing it. Congrats on the successful game!! 😊😊 (This is just a thought. Regarding the Rare hermit cards, wouldn't it be considered as Special cards in each players deck? Since it is called Rare, it should be limited, like 2-3 cards only, allowed in players 42-card decks. It will be more interesting how players build their decks with only 2 rare hermit card)

I have never been a card game player, but I am soooo enjoying watching the matches and streams. Everyone congregating in the shop like irl and geeking out over each others cards. You must be inundated with questions though about cards. You should probably have a tcg meeting where everyone can ask questions and iron out some of the details. Also, if I had a bdubs and two clock effect cards, and since clocks aren’t damage dealing cards, could I shreep, and use those two clocks to full heal and immediately attack?

"Playing for keeps" doesn't sound like a good rule, it can be very unfair if one hermit takes a crucial part of your deck or a super rare card after the game is over, I would say that the keeps rule should be abolished entirely since no other card game does that, (especially since a Hermit might get a common and another can get an ultra from one another) it isn't a very balanced system

@@lukehdarowlet9321 They were removed from official tournament rules, but people still do play for keeps. Which is exactly what has naturally happened among the Hermits. Ren has said he will take any for keeps challenges, other people like Doc and Jev never want to play for keeps. There's no need to remove the rule when the Hermits themselves already decide 3/1 or 2/2 and for keeps or not for keeps before matches.

One idea for the gme: what about dding some very strange item cards that work as any other item? so you could attach them to a hermit and it will be the type that you need always... they could be a diamond

BTW I want to see how the meta develops. Now we just see slightly modified starter decks, I want to see more develop and better thought decks soon. Ren was already getting to the right proportion of hermit/items/effects that you would need (as the starter decks have obviously more item cards than needed)
