In the world of country music, the Carter Family was absolute royalty. There were a lot of performing families in the genre, but what set the Carters apart was June's tremendous energy and comedic flair. Her timing and physical humor are great, aren't they?

I can totally understand why Johnny Cash was so in love with June 💯 She was definitely one of a kind....I just wish the songs were longer. I can't get enough of these Gems.

The Carter Sisters rocked, I love Helen's accordion playing she was the first accordion player to use the accordion as a lead instrument, she rocked !! A unicorn on the accordion , none played the instrument like Helen Carter before and after she passed. June was the first natural front-man or front-person for a band. many would follow but June was a pioneer among their pioneering band. Their band was the only female group that Elvis Presley would open for or be lower on a bill for in 1955. Here they are playing a contemporary Chuck Berry song for 1956 and they rock it ! Anita Carter was a great bass player as well.
